[SOLVED] Microsoft C++ Visual Runtime Error R6025?
Hello, I've been having my first issue with Skyrim (with over 120+ hours).

As described in the title, it's a runtime error, and it stops the game. I think others have had it (something to do with DLC) but I haven't found a solution. I've never had issues with it, and I know it's not my computer. I recently upgraded from an Acer with Windows 7 (the error appeared there too) and now I'm on a Dell Inspiron with Windows 10 (previously 8.1). I'll post the specs, but first I'll describe the error.

I'll be playing Skyrim, for a good while (probably about an hour), then the screen will be still (the sound keeps rolling) and I'll hear the sound you get when an error occurs. I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it to see the error message (which I can't view, I have to hover over it, hence no screenshot) Microsoft C++ Visual Runtime Error R6025. Then I must close the error message manually. After this, a window will say "The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution, then both Skyrim and the solution box close.

I can't disable the DLC (I've already started Hearthfire and Dragonborn, just finished Dawnguard) and I can't tell you exactly when it started (though I'm fairly certain it was around when I started Dawnguard)

I've verified the cache, and because this issue persisted across multiple computers, I assume this is an issue with the game itself? I don't see the point of doing a reinstall, as I just got this laptop (and installed Skyrim day of).

Specs:
Model: Dell Inspiron 3543
Processor: Intel Core i5-5200U
CPU Speed: 2.20 GHz
OS: Windows 10 (previously 8.1), 64 bit
8.00 GB of RAM

I have Skyrim and Steam up to date, and I'm not sure about the C++s themselves, or which ones are used by Skyrim. I don't have any other issues (aside from various texture glitches, but that's because I don't have a very nice GPU [integrated into the Intel, I believe :/] and those are VERY minor)

I know Skyrim (like most Bethesda games) can be very fickle and buggy, but I'm at a loss for what to do. It's really annoying, especially since I'm always either saving every 10 minutes or forgetting for an hour. I'm fairly certain it had to do with DLC, and I'm willing to turn off Hearthfire (I heard it could be the source of this problem, and I don't use it as much). Could someone explain to me what happens if you disable DLC, but have already used it? I assume it just disappears, right?

If it helps, the most recent crash was the main quest line, so I know it's not action-specific, or human error. Also, I don't use mods.

I'd really appreciate any help, as Skyrim is my baby and the game I've played the most on Steam, and it's frustrating to be constantly worried about this.

Skyrim comes with 2010 version of Microsoft Visual C++. It is located to ...Skyrim > VCRedits folder. However, you can download newer 2013 version from Microsoft Support page. It is compatible with Skyrim.

Will it manually switch, or will I have to put the 2013 version in VCRedits?

I'll try that, and test Skyrim, though I believe I tried that about a week ago. Thanks.

You will have to manuall download and install Visual C++ 2013, if it goes to that.

2015 version is on it's way for Windows 10, but so far peoples having problems with Skyrim have been able to use 2013 version to cover them.

Okay, I'll try that as well, thank you.

Considering I have 64 bit windows, I'd download x64, right? Because Skyrim was an x86.

Yep, x64.

I have a similar problem, but apparently with a difference I haven't seen anyone mention anywhere.

When this first started happening to me I was in full-screen and had nothing else open so I couldn't task switch out of the game to find out what the error was. Thinking it might be related to overheating my video card (the fan and heatsink should probably be cleaned, although a subsequent inspection didn't reveal the dust bunny clog I expected to find), I switched to Windowed mode hoping to be able to see the actual error when it happened.

And it didn't happen again.
As long as I play in Windowed mode, no crashes.

Meanwhile I discovered and fixed a dead fan in my Power Supply.
So I tried Skyrim on Full Screen again, and again it crashed after a few minutes of playing.
This time however I had other things open in the background so I was able to bring up the Alt-Tab menu and discover the error is actually the "C++ Redistributable" problem.

Has anyone else noticed that switching to Windowed mode seems to "fix" whatever is triggering this?
