SAVING THE GAME ON A MAC ??

Can someone guide me as to how I can save the game? The controls say F1 but my F1 on a mac only implements the F1 for the brightness of the screen. And there is no other command documented. I have played this game half way twice. I cant do it for the fourth time.

press fn+f5 then it brings up the menu

I tried different combinations but the menu never appears, I had to ask for a refund. How is it possible to have such defects in a product officially sold on a platform like Steam? I would understand if we were talking about an emulator with a downloaded ROM, but for a product you have to pay for, it's absurd
