I've tried playing Escape from Monkey Island on Windows 10, but the cut-scenes would not play. I got the cut-scenes working on Ubuntu Linux with Proton 6.3 After reaching Jumbalaya Island I've discovered some dialogues were cut off. Finally took a look at ProtonDB and installed Proton 5.13. Looks like Ubuntu Linux is the best OS for Windows legacy games. TLDR: Run this on Steam Linux with Proton 5.13. It works really well! Note: You can safely ALT+TAB or WIN-KEY out of the game without crashing it...

My computer is not very good, so I wanted to test this game out in case I need to refund it (I know it's an old game but I wanted to make sure it would still work just to be safe. I try opening up the game and it locks my monitor in 4:3 resolution. I don't mind the resolution or it being locked in fullscreen but then when I try to click a button the whole window freaks out and brings me back to the steam homepage. Probably the worst compatible game I wasted money on here on Steam. Completely worthless and unplayable. No setting adjustments allow me to play it. Anyone else having zero luck playing this game, regardless of the settings they apply?

Hi to everyone, I've installed steams, buoght the full package of M.I. Return to monkey island start properly. Escape from monkey island do not start. When i launch it it crashes reporting to check support, without any indication. I've win11, AMD ryzen and so on.... Cannot understand why it crashes... Thanks for everyone can help me....

Serious question, why is this mini-game the only thing people talk about in regards to Escape? I can understand getting frustrated with it if you're going off memory, but it's incredibly easy to write out some sort of chart. There is trial and error, but that's true for literally every insult fighting segment in this series....
