Immersion in the jungle in Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a delight! The game pleases the eye with stunning graphics: from dense thickets to ancient ruins, every detail lives and breathes. The gameplay has become even more exciting - cave exploration, puzzles and stealth mechanics are thought out to the smallest detail, and battles with enemies are dynamic and varied. Lara looks stronger and more human: her evolution from an artifact hunter to a defender of the world is felt in every dialogue and action.
However, the plot is disappointing. The story of saving the world from the apocalypse seems formulaic in places: the villains are flat, and the key twists are predictable. Some scenes are passable, and the ending leaves a feeling of haste - I wanted more depth and surprises.
But even with these shortcomings, the game leaves a vivid impression. If you are a fan of the series or love atmospheric adventures, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will not disappoint you - especially when it comes to gameplay and visual beauty. Just don't expect a masterpiece from the script!

Мені дуже сподобався сюжет – він захоплюючий та моментами драматичний, що дає змогу краще зрозуміти Лару Крофт. Її боротьба з «Трійцею», спроби виправити власні помилки та врятувати світ від апокаліпсису зробили історію по-справжньому напруженою.

Гра виглядає неймовірно красиво. Джунглі, храми, підводні рівні – усе зроблено з великою увагою до деталей. Світ здається живим, а саундтрек чудово доповнює атмосферу.

Pros:
1. Well Optimized like the previous 2 games.
2. Solid soundtrack like always
3. Technically the same addictive game play loop.
4. No pointless multiplayer this time around.

Cons:
1. Overly funky parkour and climbing even though the last game perfected it.
2. Interesting, yet lame story.
3. Odd art choices (Lara Croft is so clean in this game she is practically glowing).
4. Overly long game = Value

I really love this reboot franchise. Tomb Raider (2013) was a great surprise for its compelling story, blend of game play and exploration and Rise of the Tomb Raider improved on every singe aspect of the first game making an all timer. It is just weird how much the team behind this game tried to improve on what was already solid.

The positives up front being that the game is well made and optimized leading to not a single dropped frame during the experience. The music is still a great combo of sweeping and intimate and the game play loop is still as good as ever for the most part.

The main issue is that this game feels like they got scared and attempted to ape Uncharted 4 rather than the previous games with a story that oddly goes back to Lara's past for some reason that is never really clear. additions to the traversal of the game with the grappling hook is weird and always feel like a leap of faith. And it seems like Lara, while covering one self in mud for stealth is key aspect of the game, looks strangely clean to the point she looked like a glowing super model rather than the rugged adventurer she is.

Also, this game has fallen into the Ubisoft trap of a long game means value. But it is all useless fluff. The first games had their side stuff, but by 9 hours in you were usually getting to some sort of "end" but here I was still 33% in and it was all so very tedious to push out the time played.

This game feels like a similar miss-fire like 2013's Batman: Arkham Origins. All the notes are their, but the instruments are out of tune.
