Love playing games that are partly based on a true story.
It's like a bit of a history lesson while playing.

The game is actually very sad and has a dark atmosphere. It's about the plague.
But it's also beautiful at the same time. Thanks to the two main protagonists Amicia & Hugo and the excellent graphics. This autumn look just fits the game perfectly.

Pros:

Cons:

- No map
- If you want to backtrack, you have to go through the whole story of the respective chapter again. (Some story sequences can be skipped)

the save glitched where i died and hugo is broken doesnt do what he should and now im softlocked on my first ever playthrough of the game GG devs nice one
yep literally keep trying and hugo just stands there i say the dialogue thats meant to start him pushing the fire down so i can get past the rats but nothing he just stands there, fun

I will be reviewing BOTH "Innocence" and "Requiem" in the same review and posting it to both game review sections. I played them back to back.

INNOCENCE

This game was a MASTERPIECE. From the artwork to the story to the combat system, this game could not be better. There's really not much more to say about it other than you HAVE to play it.


REQUIEM

This game was good but very disappointing in some ways. Seeing as it was the second installment you would think it would be better in some ways not worse. First the bad:

* They messed up the combat system. The last game's combat system was flawless. It was a simple wheel combat system that made combat fast paced and left you in the action in a great way. This game's combat system was jumbled into a complete mess taking you out of the moment and making combat lag and feel like more of a chore than fun.

*Unlike the last game, in this game the NPCs got in your way so many times body blocking you. I can't tell you how many times I died because of the body blocking NPCs. It was frustrating to say the least.

*This game's flow was painful. It was more about sneaking around enemies the whole game with trial and error OVER AND OVER rather than having several different ways to get through levels depending on your inventory and problem solving skills like the last game.

There is more but generally they dropped the ball on game play (what I consider the most important part) pretty much forcing you to get through it to see the end of the story.


Now the good:

*This game's art is more beautiful than the last.

*The story is fantastic.


Closing:

As a whole these 2 games are worth the play for the beautiful artwork and the story alone. The first game "Innocence" is a masterpiece from top to bottom, while the second game even though it is not anywhere near as good as the first is still worth the play because the story is amazing and the game play was not a TOTAL sh*t show.

I hope they do better on the 3rd game than they did on the second and make it a masterpiece like the first.
