After watching friends play for a bit, and my own experience, I figured out the most optimal build.
First, stam is the most important attribute, since it dictates how long you can block, and how many times you can swing your sword.
Second, getting your sword damage up to respectable levels is key. Gotta kill things relatively quickly to avoid taking damage.
I found I could just ignore everything else and focus on those two things. Health dropped often enough in dungeons and once you get the Knight class, you won't be taking much damage anyway.
I was able to clear the first three dungeons without difficulty with this build focus. I actually found the other classes to be lackluster and just generally not better than that build + knight.
As far as progression goes, most players are going to be putting points into the sword since it's the weapon they'll be using at the start / through most of the game. It's also the one that has the most points to buy. This implies that it will generally be the best choice for gem investment.
IMO, you guys should go "all in" on the other weapons and flesh them out as much as the sword is. You should make it so that the other classes main focus *IS* the other weapons, and not the sword as default.
So if I was a ranger, the sword is no longer my default swing weapon, it's the bow. And a "crystal sword" will drop for me in dungeons instead of the "Crystal Bow" or whatever.
It also feels weird that I pick range, which says I use the bow primarily, but at that point you may not even have the bow, and you still have the sword. In some builds the sword is a backup, which again implies that you should be putting points into the sword and not your other weapon trees.
So you have this weird situation where a Wizard eventually has to run up and swing its sword around (to get mana back), which could potentially get them killed or hurt etc etc.
So that's my two cents. Flesh out the other weapons so that their weapon trees are as varied and indepth as the sword. And make it so switching classes makes the weapon associated with that class better and more of the focus, with the sword / other weapons as secondary options.
I LOVE that.
Thank you!
And honestly, we love how patient, understanding and passionate everyone is being about the game.
We got this!
