I really wanted to like this one. The animations are nice and movement feels smooth, but the combat feels flat because you'll always know exactly what will happen in advance. The repetitiveness wouldn't be an issue (given the type of game this is) if it wasn't for one thing that made me uninstall very quickly: The music.
This is the most haphazard collection of notes I have heard in a while. And while the exploration theme is "just" bad, the combat theme seals the deal as not only do you have to listen to it practically all the time, and it's very short and repetitive, but it's also incredibly obnoxious and just plain incompetently written. You *can* mix major and minor in a song, but you can't just throw in major chords at random. Monotonous repeating string hits don't make a theme feel tense. Of course you could just turn off the music, but at that point why bother? This music sounds like it was generated by AI.

You can buy the soundtrack separately if you are in the torturing business.

I am proud to say that this is one of my favorite games of all time. The first point - the battle system. Even in NG+ with the Bravery or randomizer runs, I love that i can use most, if not all monsters, for different purposes. A monster i train as an offensive powerhouse can be used as a debuffing healer by someone else. There are many ways to play this game, and team building is no different. The combo system is very easy to work with, the tutorials are very informative while not being too wordy, and the music is great. ) The second point - The world and how you interact with it. I love that most explore skills aren't limited to one or a few monsters, and this is nice when playing on a randomized or bravery seed. The map is very user friendly, and the customizable pins make all the world's difference when going for a 100%. The world itself is very aesthetically pleasing, and the OSTs are fantastic! (I do wish there were more alternate themes, though. . . )
Something else to consider is that the game is not very resource intensive. 15/10 for me, this game is worth its very low price.

I randomly stumbled across this game and saw the gameplay, and 5 mins into the video, I realised this game was for me. I bought it, installed it and started playing. It is basically a turn based strategy monster game. I really liked the story, the mini puzzles, the gameplay and of course the fights. Would totally recommend it if you love to play monster games.
