that's not how you make a fire. first, you need to make a hand drill. simply put a small stick and a regular stick on your crafting bench. drill made. make sure you already have your fire ready. (as in, all sticks needed placed), and that you have plenty of energy. then you go to your backpack, where the drill is. right click it, click on use. it will prompt you to put the fiber in. do it. then a short animation happens, and youll get an ember. place the ember on your fire. boom. fire made.

I wish there was a flint to find in the map, just like the metal canteen.
