Is there any actual non-discreet hint on what to do with the pepper?
I feel like so far this is the only large leap of logic the game took on me. I read the tablet on using a "light weight" on the white pedestals but assumed there would be an item I'd have to pick up similar to the woman statue or something from the first game that I'd have to use on them. It was then when I was stuck on a completely unrelated area that I came to the steam forums and found a spoiler for the pepper that I read... naturally I was confused on how I was supposed to figure that out. If the description said something like "A tiny bit heavy" or something similar I would have felt dumb and got it, but instead it says something about meat- which feels like a red herring to me. For the longest time I thought it was just for the secret achievement and maybe a possible easter egg where using it and eating sushi from the pause menu regained health or something.

Wait a sec. . . THIS is the use for the pepper? I'm about to feel some type of way.

You can also sprinkle 40 pepper for an achievement, I believe.
There is an alternate entrance via the Corridor of Blood, which I found way before the pedestals.

Dang. Similar to how I accidentally played through 1, I feel like i'm doing some really stupid route through the game and haven't figured out (or even got hints yet) on how to manipulate the blood corridor. I know you can go through it multiple times but other than a bunch of fanccy looking dead ends it didn't do much. Currently I have like 5 skulls and beat 3 guardians but don't even have the feather yet (and only have 3 seals, not sure if you're supposed to get them all early on too), stuff like that.

I can feel the "being stumped" part of the game finally coming, but i'm glad that it eases you in a lot more so you actually feel smart and powerful for a little bit before hitting a brick wall

Yeah the first game started to do it around the third or fourth boss as well.

Skulls "don't" seem to matter, just guardian kills. But you'll need them all I'm sure. The Corridor of Blood areas seem to be linked to Dissonance. That is I've killed Kujata and Ran, both with counterpart links to the Corridor, and they seem connected. Eg we'll surely kill Echidna and Anu there as well.

There is an easy to overlook hint for what to do with the pepper.

Near one of the places you use it, there's a skeleton. Examining him with the scanner gives his sort of why he died spiel, and he says he tripped over one of these, adding "Don't let your foot get pinched".

But to be honest, I didn't know what it meant until I read this thread. Thanks all.

I found that skeleton, but i dont get why does that means you need to use pepper on it. Its a manner of speak somewhere? Or as in a "pinch of salt"? English it not my main, neither the developers :P

The thing is - I REMEMBER a pepper clue early on in the game and didn't know what it was for. I don't think it's on a tablet, I think one of the NPCs says it

The worst thing is when you find out the white pedestals are just for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ backdoor to Dark lord's mausoleum (that would be me, 1 minute ago) which you already have access too and doesnt mean anything ( i mean, i figured out the corridor gimmick way back then), i guess now you know Ra went this way? Echhhhjjjj
And i dont even want Ra!, i just need to find that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vase for the twins!

Only clue I remember that mentioned pepper was that its a tasty seasoning honestly. Only relevant tablets just talk about something light.

Also: There are two tablets in combo that tell you how to get the vase. One is pretty late.

A slight weight feels pretty spot on to me as a hint, out of all the items you can get at that point what else could you throw that isn't a heavy weight, plus they're white dias

my assumption is that I would have gotten an item later on like the woman statue or something that would have been lighter than normal weights, I didn't really think that you could beat Aten so early

I didn't figure it out till long after I'd explored the whole Mausoleum from the Corridor entrance, but when I did it was like "wait, it couldn't be..." and I enjoyed it.

Aten-Ra is probably supposed to be the 3rd boss given how easy he is and how currently perceived 3rd and 4th bosses are in comparison. Intended order is maybe 1st boss > Valhalla Annwhyn > Dark Lord > Annwhyn > Battlegrounds. Although Anu is doable early too... so maybe Anu is intended fourth or fifth boss? The area is hard as balls with ramp but maybe its easy prior to it.

I found Anu almost impossible... until I used Flares

Anu is just the aim/ movement manipulation boss. The timing to hit him is pretty akward when dodging though, but thats probably because I love using the katana. Also keep in mind that theres boss ramp, so Anu is harder the later you do him. Rushing him may be intended.
