steamlink Nimbatus - The Space Drone Constructor
if you like the programming aspect i would highly recommend pretty much any Zachtronics game.
EDIT: Screeps is also pretty good.
One of the best and most underrated imho in that realm is "Desynced", it mixes in RTS with some very nice and modern programming archetypes and technology: RTS combat, "factory"-styled automation and production in a solid, modern take. Even the basegame without actual automation/programming is very innovative and excellent. Combined with visual styled scripting and equippable functions/modules... enabling you to basically combine RTS realtime controls with semi-automated programming/automation, for instance.
Or just fully, or close to fully automate many things in very interesting manners. RTS/base, general implementation and the visual scripting are very modern, decoupled and extremely innovative, fun and solid.
You can even extend/adapt existing visual/node-based functionality with more or your custom requirements should you reach it's limits, sort of with a back-end and scripting language (offline), filebased iirc. It's really great.
-> Ontop of that it's actually one of the few that actually supports multiplayer, online co-op inside all of that fantastic innovation. Thx to decoupling, with excellent savegame/host and even "script-migration". I.e. you can basically copy/share scripts/node-automations from your buddies or host etc. It's... incredibly good. You should try it out. :)
Terranny is more difficult IMO, but with more depth, with building your drones and programming them to fight and move around obstacles :
