Do you know other games of similar-ish genre ?
Hello everyone!

I found the game today while looking for AI based games. Do you know other games that have a similar concept where you have a high level of customization of your team/character and then you see how it goes ?

I love the concept of gladiabots but it might be a bit too strategy oriented for my taste if that makes any sense ?

Anyway, if you have any other cool reference to share I'd love to hear about them! All platforms are welcome too I'm curious.

This is the only game we have in common, and I can't think of anything similar. But if you want a simple real-time strategy against AI, check out Auralux: Constellations . Instead of bots, it's planets with customizable colors. There's no programming, just simple commands like move, upgrade, or attack. 150 levels with up to 3 different AI.

If you enjoy retro gaming, there was a game for the PS1 called Carnage Heart. I would be very surprised if the devs of this game didn't take a lot of their inspiration from that one. Obviously there's no multiplayer in CH.

There was a feature where you could save your bots to a save card, and download it to a friends console and have a vs. match that way.

if you like the programming aspect i would highly recommend pretty much any Zachtronics game.

Sadly for programming there's not many options; plus many falling into "automation" genre where they clearly should not doesn't exactly help their searchability.

One of the best and most underrated imho in that realm is "Desynced", it mixes in RTS with some very nice and modern programming archetypes and technology: RTS combat, "factory"-styled automation and production in a solid, modern take. Even the basegame without actual automation/programming is very innovative and excellent. Combined with visual styled scripting and equippable functions/modules... enabling you to basically combine RTS realtime controls with semi-automated programming/automation, for instance.

Or just fully, or close to fully automate many things in very interesting manners. RTS/base, general implementation and the visual scripting are very modern, decoupled and extremely innovative, fun and solid.

You can even extend/adapt existing visual/node-based functionality with more or your custom requirements should you reach it's limits, sort of with a back-end and scripting language (offline), filebased iirc. It's really great.

-> Ontop of that it's actually one of the few that actually supports multiplayer, online co-op inside all of that fantastic innovation. Thx to decoupling, with excellent savegame/host and even "script-migration". I.e. you can basically copy/share scripts/node-automations from your buddies or host etc. It's... incredibly good. You should try it out. :)

Hello,

Terranny is more difficult IMO, but with more depth, with building your drones and programming them to fight and move around obstacles :
