when i got that thing of the ships i didn't know how to continue , so a went to the hints , and told me to get a rope that i never saw , can anyone help me?

I cannot work out what to end in Task Manager. It does not show in applications and not sure if it is one of the files in Processes. Is there a trick to shutting the game down normally? Nice game though, real blast from the past. Looking forward to game 2....

I just finished the game. It all made more-or-less sense to me, except the part with the books in the library. That part I just clicked randomly and happen to stumble upon the correct solution (yellow book and white book). Can anyone explain to me *why* is it the correct solution? The one guide here on Steam doesn't explain it....
