Workshop?
Have you thought about opening the game up to Steam work shop? I'm pretty sure this would breath a new lease of life on the game!

This is a good idea, but the thing is that to be workshop compatible, this has to be taken into account from the get go. Making the game moddable would be impossible right now unfortunately.
