We are the first portuguese regiment in Napoleonic Wars!

The History of the Regiment:
We formed the 6thC on the 24th of April 2013, after the 77th Regiment of Foot disbanded. After that we became a detachment for the 88th for 3 days then we became a full regiment.

From that point on we met many regiments the 84th Highlanders for example, they became the 8th Oporto Regiment, but there was a dispute in the regiment,that lead to a disbandment, Then the 4th Royal Marines were formed from the remains of the 8th and we fought many battles together as we with the 8th Oporto.

Some weeks after the 4th Royal Marines were formed they were disbanded and half of it merged into the 6thC, the leader of the 4th Marines (Craneboy2) was given a Cavalry detachment for his skill and experience in the field.

By the 15th of June we had 20 members in the 6thC, since then we have grown to an average of 30 to 40. And along the way we met the 3o Regiment of Caçadores that had joined Portuguese Brigade (PB).

In the middle of July, Coronel Viriathus, Major Craneboy (leaders of the 6thC and 6thCC) and the 3o leader Captain Sam, made a plan for the Portuguese Brigade to form a 4 part detachment army, they called it Operation PASO. When it was launched it didn’t go well as members of the 6thC and 6thCC voted against it, so we ended PASO, later that day the Artillery detachment was disbanded, because of a bad occurrence we had with the officers releasing information.

Since then we have grown strong and mighty, and hope that you can be a valued and proud member of our wonderful regiment.

The 14th August there was a split, because people weren't loyal and didn't respect the unit.

Early September the 6thC disbanded.

About the Regiment:
The Caçadores (Portuguese for "Huntsmen")were the elite light infantry of the Portuguese Army during the Peninsular War. Both of these units fought with the British to defeat the Spanish armies that hit Portugals borders when running from the French who were led by the Corsican General Napoleon, who was later defeated at the battle of Waterloo.
