TOTEP EP

TOTEP is Kero Kero Bonito’s first original EP, released on February 20th, 2018. The four noise rock-infused tracks depart from the clean electropop style and self-positive lyricism associated with their music since their debut 2014 mixtape Intro Bonito. The EP’s sound and songwriting draws influence from pop punk, dream pop, twee pop, and shoegaze.

Though the predominantly rock instrumentation is a first in the band’s recording career, it is a return for producers Gus Lobban and Jamie Bulled to the instruments they first learned music on – drums and bass guitar respectively. London-based musician James Rowland joins them on guitar. Meanwhile, the EP is their first major release without Japanese lyrics or rapping from vocalist Sarah Midori Perry.
