Maximum Sexy Pigeon
(Industrial Metal)

Country: Australia

Albums:
  • Unfit For Human Consumption [EP] (2012)
  • Refinery (2017)
The band has been around since the late 00's releasing a number of demos and EPs under their own label, The Worm. While entering the 2010's they did find some minor success given a majority of their tracks were on the Carmageddon Reincarnation soundtrack along side Fear Factory and Brazilian industrial group Morgue. They did release their debut album in 2017 through bandcamp and since then have been fairly active mostly putting out singles.

The band formed around 1995 and were featured in a number of compilations and tribute albums from Sepultura, Soulfly to Iron Maiden. Week 9
The Crawling

(Death/Doom Metal)

United Kingdom

Albums:
  • Anatomy of Loss (2017)
  • Wolves and the Hideous White (2018)
  • All of This for Nothing (2023)

The Crawling is a three piece band that plays some good death/doom metal. Their early work is alright, not mind blowing or anything but the worst I could say is maybe some tracks are a bit longer than they should be. But they've been evolving their sound since their debut, and their newest releases sound fairly more interesting, althought I can't quite put my finger on why, think their music just got a bit slower and doomier overall. Anyway, feel free to judge for yourself, be it their older material or the most recent one, The Crawling's discography is worth a listen, so if you like death/doom, do give the band a chance.

Black Mask

(Heavy Metal)

Mexico

Albums:
  • Queen of the Beasts (2022)

Black Mask is a female-fronted mexican quintet that plays some 80s sounding speed/heavy metal. Their debut is surprisingly short, barely 30 minutes long, but that's almost half an hour of quality old school metal, with some songs being mid tempo but most sticking with the fast, speed metal-ish pace of the genre, all of them containing good riffs and strong vocals. All in all, a neat band with a solid foundation that has a nice sound going, takes 28 minutes to listen to their LP and it's well worth the time, so if you enjoy some old school sounding heavy metal, consider giving Black Mask a try.
