New/Fixed Checkpoint Maps Added to Insurgency 1 Server

Happy New Years All!

Hope everyone is safe and doing well.

Someone pinged me to let me know the Insurgency Server was hung up. Resolved and decided to take the opportunity to add new workshop maps.

Once I saw Mike Hawk =) is back fixing his older maps and porting new ones, I had to add them to the rotation and may play them this week when I have time. In addition to Mike's maps, I hand picked some other notable ones to add to the rotation and will link them below in the complete list.

If you haven't played on SERNIX INS1 in sometime, I made an update in 2019 and generally things should be easier than it once was and less frustrating.

General Details:

Movement is faster (no friction bs) especially with weight perks.
Enemies (and jugs) are no longer bullet sponges.
Bombers/Jugs are fewer overall, especially lower player counts(AI director adjusts them more optimally)
AI Director improved and will respond better to how well the team is doing.

Theater Player Speeds, Weapon Drop, AI Director & SlowMo Updated

Hi All,

Just a little update with some profound changes. Not sure how regularly I'll be tweaking things but I'm just trying to do some quality of life improvements. I don't want to break anything or do any rehauls so I'm trying to keep it simple.

Theater Player Speed changes:

Increased base run, walk, crouch run, prone. Some still slightly less than vanilla.
Sprint max speed is the same but sprint itself has been tweaked.
Weight acceleration increased, you'll notice acceleration much more significantly if you weigh less. Making training perks much more important. Also increased on higher weight values as well.
Weight deceleration change closer to vanilla settings
Weight Friction changed slightly lower than vanilla at lower weights.
Sprint speed based on stamina has been increased. You won't notice any speed drop off until you've depleted 40% or more of your stamina and it drops off less more than it did before.
Max stamina by weight increased across the board.
These changes affect enemies as well so we'll see how it plays out.
Fixed bug with MG weapons clips being reduced when selecting quick reload with them. You should now be able to quick reload an MG.

Weapon drop mechanic:

I literally didn't test this but its pretty simple and reused proven code.

Player now has a 25% chance to "drop" primary weapon when dying with a prompt letting the player know if this occurs.
If player "drops" weapon: when player is revived they don't spawn with a primary weapon and are switched to knife, also notified of this.
If player resupplies or respawns on a reinforcement wave or captured point, they should spawn normally with gear aside from no grenades on counter attack reinforcement.
If weapon is still around I imagine they should be able to pick it up.

AI Director Info Guide and Minor changes

Counter-attack chance is now factored into AI director. Chance of counter can be reduced or increased +/- 10% based on how well team is doing.

SlowMo changes:

Reduced slow mo frequency from 10 to 20 minutes to 8 to 16 minutes.

SlowMo in testing seemed to occur a couple times on average per map with 6-7 people playing. It would only last 20-30 seconds. I think this will help it appear at least 3-4 times per map and since it last so little, it shouldn't feel over the top and annoying. Let me know what you guys think.

Sernix SlowMo - small plugin update

Hi All,

First version of Sernix SlowMo is live on the server just in time for Labor Day Weekend.

Instead of doing a voting type system which would take more time to develop but mainly test, I decided to go with a simple automated system.

Sernix SlowMo Mechanics:

SlowMo reduces game simulation speed to 30% of normal speed.
SlowMo condition 1: trigger every 10-20 mins and players have to be alive and insurgents have to have units in their spawn pool
SlowMo condition 2: separate cool down from cond 1 of 10-20 mins and in counter attack and based on alive players it has a chance to trigger 5-15% every second on counter.
SlowMo will last for 6 to 10 seconds at 30% speed. 1 slowMo second = ~3.5 real time seconds. So slowMo last ~21-35 real time seconds.
Condition 1 and condition 2 both reset their respective timers.
Players are notified when SlowMo is ending and with a smooth speed transition back to normal.

Subject to change based on feedback. Let me know what you guys think and if its a fun addition. I didn't want it to be too annoying and to trigger at slower/boring instances which is harder to predict without really adding complexity. Report bugs please.

VIP Can Reinforce Team - small plugin update

Hi All,

I can't believe the core plugin hasn't been updated since about a year ago. Thought of a couple of cool ideas I wanted to try that were "simpler" to implement but I think people would enjoy. Took me ~4-5 hours with brief testing (probably has bugs).

First one being the ability for VIP to "save" the team and have a bigger purpose to keep/stay alive. You can think of it as the VIP calling for reinforcements. Now that VIP has this power, this has added pressure to this role. Please don't berate the VIP when they make mistakes or get killed. Its already pretty OP that the VIP can respawn the whole team and will make things easier.

The other small feature I'm working on is a fun feature that would allow players to vote for the server to execute slow motion for 30 or 60 seconds. This would likely have a cool down for 10 minutes or more. Let me know thoughts on this.

VIP Reinforce Mechanics:

VIP can type /st or /saveteam in chat to reinforce any dead players.
VIP must be alive to reinforce team
/saveteam or /st command has a 6 minute cool down. It doesn't reset the reinforce team timer either.
VIP only has 1-3 team saves based on number of players on team.
VIP can reinforce team if only one is dead with 6 or less players on team.
VIP can reinforce team if 50% or more are dead with 7 or more players on team.
Reinforced players spawn at last resupply zone, not on VIP.
VIP can reinforce team on counter attacks.
All players can type /st and /saveteam command to view cool down period for VIP.

Please report bugs, I just added in the rules about team players being dead and wasn't able to test.
