Credit Card Verification
We've released a new feature to allow users to remove the market restriction that's placed when using a new credit card. When using a new credit card to add wallet funds, access to the Community Market has always been restricted. But now, if you go through the verification process, you can remove the restriction right away.

You can begin the verification process from the card verification page. When applicable, there is a link to this page on your account page and the main Community Market page.

If you encounter a bug, please let us know by replying to this thread.

Please see the Community Market FAQ for assistance with this process.

Steam Support cannot remove or alter any Market restrictions. Contacting us will not result in expedited use of the Market.

Can you do this for PayPal accounts too?
This currently only applies to credit cards used directly on the Steam store. Not PayPal.
Thanks a lot for this feature, Drunken. :tgrin:
I have problem,I get steam wallet at 3.6.14' and now when I click on this the card verification page , no showing me my card,it says : No cards need verification.
Canadian users are kind of screwed, as using the CAD amount won't work. Using Google to convert into USD may be more or less a stroke of luck (which it hasn't been for me, therefore 2 of my attempts have been burnt).

You still have to wait 30 days after your first purchase before you can use the market. That restriction hasn't been removed. We'll have to look at removing that one separately.

So your bank only showed the CAD amount even though the transaction was USD?
what kind of verification is required? I will pay with a method depending on this answer during summer sale.

The verification involves two small authorizations being placed on the credit card. The authorizations never clear and will always remain in the pending state and eventually disappear on their own. To verify the card, you enter the amount of the two authorizations.

Correct, the site only showed the CAD amount in the transaction history (and didn't have any USD/CAD conversion information from my brief searches on its site).
i cant find the verifications
Does that mean, that there is no way for scammers, to sell me games that get revoked after a week?
oh perfect now ive run out of attempts there were 2 trasactions on my account for like a dollar CAD that i didnt make so i put them in and that didnt work then i converted them and that didnt work so i tried the first way agian a different way and now im screwed.
I'm using my parents Credit Card since a while to use Steam. However, I want to remove it and use my own PayPal account. But will the one week restriction also apply when I use a new PayPal account? Or is this a credit card only thing?

No. You're not forced to verify the card and you can use a perfectly fine card and then revoke the purchase anyway.
Entering Canadian amount didn't work. I burned 2 attempts on that. Converted the currency, didn't work. Now I'm locked out. Help?
