Gegen Schnitte und Geolocks von Videospielen!

In den nächsten Tagen und Wochen stehen bei for UNCUT! einige Veränderungen an. Marcel / addicT* wird das Team aus privaten Gründen verlassen müssen. Dies ist für die Gruppe ein herber und kaum auszugleichender Verlust, da die komplette Administration und die Vertretung vor unseren Partnern von Marcel übernommen wurden. Nichtsdestotrotz ist dieser Schritt bereits intern vollzogen.

Wir haben das Ausscheiden von Marcel aus dem Team zum Anlass genommen einige Punkte von for UNCUT auf den Prüfstand zu stellen. Neben eher speziellen Angelegenheiten, die durch den bedauerlichen Wegfall des for UNCUT! Streams überflüssig werden (niemand aus dem aktuellen Team kann den Stream in ähnlicher Qualität und Frequenz fortsetzen), überdenken wir dabei gerade auch die Gesamtausrichtung der Community. Das Thema Zensur in Spielen war in den letzten Jahren immer weniger relevant, was sich auch in der Häufigkeit der dazu veröffentlichten Artikel niedergeschlagen hatte. Bereits seit längerem führte die fiktive Gewaltdarstellung in Spielen kaum noch zu Schnitten in Spielen ohne Jugendfreigabe. Auch die Sozialadäquanzklausel findet seit der Entscheidung der USK vom 09.08.2018 (§ 86a Abs. 3 StGB Verwenden von Kennzeichen verfassungswidriger Organisationen, Ausnahmen für Kunst, Bildung, etc.) Anwendung. Viele weitere Baustellen im Bereich des Jugendschutzes können nur noch durch die aktive Mitarbeit entsprechend vernetzter Personen in den verantwortlichen Gremien gelöst werden.

Die Arbeit verteilte sich intern zuletzt auf immer weniger Schultern und öffentliche Aufrufe zur Mitarbeit waren in der Vergangenheit oft erfolglos. Seit die Webseite gehackt wurde, hatte Marcel sich mehrfach um den Aufbau einer neuen, WordPress unabhängigen Seite bemüht.

Aufgrund dieser Situation und unserer Überlegungen wurde diskutiert, den Fokus weg vom Spezial-Newsblog in Richtung Gaming Community zu verlagern. Einen groben Plan dafür gibt es bereits, es ist uns aber wichtig vor Beginn der Umstrukturierung auch die Meinung der Community einzuholen. Wünsche und Anregungen sind natürlich wie immer gern gesehen. Letztendlich muss die Community diese Neuausrichtung mittragen.

Wir danken Marcel ausdrücklich für seine langjährige und unermüdliche Unterstützung. In the next days and weeks there will be some changes to the for UNCUT! Group, as Marcel / addicT* will have to leave the team for private reasons. This is a bitter loss for the group and can hardly be compensated, since Marcel has taken over the complete administration and the representation before our partners. Nevertheless, this step has already been taken internally.

We have taken Marcel's departure from the team as an opportunity to put some points of for UNCUT to the test. Apart from rather special matters, which have been caused by the discontinueation of the for UNCUT! stream (no one in the current team can continue the stream with similar quality and frequency), we are also rethinking the overall direction of the community. The topic of censorship in games has become less and less relevant in recent years, which was also reflected in the frequency of articles published on the subject. For quite some time now, the fictional depiction of violence in games has seldomly led to cuts in games without age rating. The social adequacy clause can also been applied to games since the USK's decision on 09.08.2018 (§ 86a Paragraph 3 StGB "use of symbols of unconstitutional organisations", exceptions for art, education, etc.). Many other issues in the area of youth protection can only be resolved through the active cooperation of appropriately networked persons in the responsible governing bodies.

Internally, the workload in the group has recently been spread over fewer and fewer shoulders and calls for help have often been unsuccessful in the past. Since the website was hacked, Marcel had made several efforts to build a new, WordPress-independent site.

Due to this situation and our considerations, it was discussed to shift the focus away from the special newsblog towards the gaming community. There is already a rough plan for this, but it is important for us to get the opinion of the community before starting the restructuring. Opinions and suggestions are of course welcome, as always. In the end, the community has to support this new orientation.
