GangWarsRP Community,

The time has come! Thank you for your continued support of the project. GangWarsRP will be officially hosted once again and we will be launching servers this Friday. At 2:00 PM GMT+1, servers will open to the community once again!

We will be hosting two servers, one on Downtown and one on Uptown for the time being. If the servers become too populated we will look into opening more servers and possibly bringing back the original “Newbie Paradise”, “Gangsters Paradise”, etc layout.

These servers will be using default XP rates as well with balancing and additions to the gamemode.

Yes, mechs will be there!


GangWars ARC

GangWarsARC (GangWars Advanced Research Center) will be shipping out in roughly 3-4 weeks after the initial launch of the servers. This will allow us enough time to work out the kinks, add more content, and get a smooth integration method into the gamemode. ARC is currently end-game content so be sure to grind your way to 95+ starting this Friday that way you’ll have access to the ARC!

With the return of the Official GangWars Community, we are currently commissioning for a new map to be made! There is no set date for when this map will be released however if you join our Discord server you’ll be able to see updates on the process.

Hello everyone,

As you may have taken notice over the past 24 hours Mercior has relieved his ownership of GangWarsRP and it's accompanying assets to myself.


A bit about myself

I originally found out about GangWars as many of you did, in early 2012 time when the gamemode was the hottest thing on Garrys Mod. I soon grew out of the gamemode because I was a soft-core player. Over the past few years, I have pondered about the idea of resurrecting GangWars and making it a community again.

I will be taking on this project and reviving it from its current state. I do plan to bring on a developer or two that was recommended by Mercior himself to continue the gamemode and fix it up for the official release.

My goals are for the first few months:

• Get a new map created that creates a happy medium between the size of Downtown and Uptown (Won't be done till likely late 2020 or early 2021.) Currently reaching out to numerous mappers who take commissions about the project.
  
  
• Establish a new mining system that will allow for a more enjoyable experience instead of click-and-go.
  
  
• Create more content for mid and late game players to prevent stale gameplay.
  
  
• Create professional youtube videos used for game change announcements as well with gameplay to allow for a higher interest in the community.
  
  
• Establish a better connection with the existing community and run community events routinely on the servers when they get released to allow for more engagement from staff members.
  
  
• Attempt to bring back original staff members if they're interested in taking on the job again. I have not managed to get the time to talk to them as of right now.

I know the community has been burned numerous times with false hopes and that may lead to certain people feeling as if this will be another one of those instances. The GangWarsRP Franchise is under completely new ownership which is something that has never been done before. I can assure you, this will not be another one of those false hopes and I hope you can keep good faith in my optimism for the project.

When will the Official Servers be up?

Although I can not provide an exact date for when Official Servers will be released again, it will likely be within the next month or two since I want to have GangWarsARC integrated into the official gamemode as well with some revisions made to it so the official release goes without issue.


Where can we get updates and news related to GangWars?

The process of domain transfer is in the works so that will be the primary discussion board once it is set up.


You can join the Official GangWarsRP Discord Server [discord.gg]for the time being. In the discord server you'll find updates in the future relating to the development of GangWars, Staff Additions, and events.

This is very bare-bones and early setup just to open up discussion between the community and myself so don't expect much, for now we are going to use the bot called AltDentifier till the official domain is transferred and an Authentication method can be implemented.

Hello Again!

I am writing what will be my final post into this group to tell you that GangWars is changing ownership to somebody who I hope has the time & passion available to properly get the game running again in an official capacity.

While I will not personally be working on the game, I remain in close contact with the new owner (Woox) and trust that he will see it through and get a decent set of GangWars servers running again on a long term basis for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks to everyone who supported me making GangWars over the years & those who continue to reach out to me about how much you loved the game when you were younger. GangWars will always be a special game to me. My agreement with the new owner still allows me to work on my own GangWars projects outside of gmod so I hope that you may hear more about those one day in the future

Hey Guys,

I know its been a long time but I wanted to make a note about scams involving GangWars since it is a topic I constantly receive messages about and it saddens me to see the playerbase being exploited.

I want to make it clear: GangWars has not been sold to anyone, and anyone claiming to have an official server backed by myself is lying to you!

There is a particular 'GangWars' server recently launched which the owner is very obviously trying to mislead the players of my involvement. It is a cash-grab operation, a scam! The good news is that paypal will not hesitate to offer you a refund if you charge back your money so I encourage anyone who got stung to do so.

I apologise that it has been a long time since an official GangWars server ran. At the time I closed GangWars down, the community was very toxic and after 8 years of working on one game I wanted to explore other game development opportunities. Serious attempts have been made at reviving it last year, but it does require a unique combination of people to be run successfully which we just haven't been able to find yet.

When and if official servers backed by myself return, you will read about it on this steam group and on www.gangwarsrp.com first.
