Remote Play is unplayable
Hello,

The remote play together is sadly completely unplayable in it's current form.
Whenever I try to be the host for my friends, all they see is a split, shattered screen no matter the resolution I set in the game / windows / steam remote play settings.

My specs:
I9 - 9900kf
RTX 2080 super
Windows 10 64 bit

350 / 20 Mbit/s internet connection

I thought this would suffice but guess not.

If you're experiencing this problem, please provide the following information:
Host's rendering hardware
Client's rendering hardware
Game played and resolution used

Also, try updating your graphics card drivers. Thanks!

Also to note, I am the only one experiencing this issue, my other friends who have a 1070 and 1060 are not having the splice issue

Hey guys. Found this in another discussion, it worked for me:
While in Steam, go to:

Steam Settings > Remote Play > Advanced Client Options > Uncheck "Enable hardware decoding"

I can help you. Tell them to go on nvidia control panel, click on default setting and they will be able to see the stream correctly

put default settings on nvidia control panel of the client ( not the host ) I was able to host without problems but had same problem, a weird 2 cutted screens combination in top of the monitor. Solved by putting a default config on nvidia control panel.

imo your machine should be OK

on a way worse config than yours (10 years old config), and with 30/5 Mbit net connection I was able to stream split-screen Portal 2 in 1080p with no problem
