Have been trying to reboot and tweak settings as well. Thankfully found these posts

We've tried both the latest stable release, as well as the beta release.
We've tried hosting on Linux, Windows, and MacOS.
Reproducing the bug:
- With a game running, open the Friends List. (either in-game overlay or separate window)
- The "Invite Anyone To Play" banner is visible in the Friends List.
- Clicking the banner seems to do nothing.
- Right-clicking the friend and clicking "Remote Play Together" sends an invite.
- The friend can "connect" successfully, but the usual window in the in-game overlay doesn't appear. This means you can't assign control permissions to the remote player.
Edit: I posted this about about 20 minutes after this happened.
