cube! History

It was February 2004 when two guys from Counter Strike scene decided to found a CS clan. Pr0mo and Seibula put up a counter strike clan called [cube!].

Only after few days they decided (for who knows what reason?) to expand cubism to Day of Defeat. Another founder of cube cs Pr0mo, knew one fellow named X-Tasy. X-Tasy had played DoD with his big brother called OnTheRocks few times. Someone might remember that OnTheRocks changed his nick to Roksi later on.

X-Tasy was asked to put up a dod squad for cube! and he thought: "well.. why not. it cant be that hard to gather and lead a one single Dod clan." And so X-Tasy had formed a DoD clan called cube! It was cold february 2004.

But what is a dod clan with no players? Answer to that problem? Lets think a moment.. Public servers!

And so started a huge recruiting from all those lovely playgrounds like VoiPer, OldIsFun and sometimes even that pr0 server Sota. Big thanks goes to people that had arranged those and other public servers. I know that cube is not a only clan that helped public heroes to join wannabe pr0 battles.

First lineup with cube was X-Tasy, AgONi, Fujitsu, Angel of Death (later Dechestra) Abrachius (later uuni) and Manezi. All public heroes proven to have more than 10 kills or so.

First match in. It was with ViiRy. They played Donner and we played Anzio. Well. That was a massacre. But ViiRy had some mercy for us and we only lost few hundred points. GG.

Then we started to play matches. A lot. Its impossible to remember all but our first fullcap was against a clan called KTJ (Kodinturvajoukot). That was a magical moment and our ventrilo was filled wih joy. Well clans like LoP soon hit us hard back to ground.

X-Tasy and me leaded cube together and recruited new members like Bonge, Nikolai, Sotanorsu and many others..

Soon one our loved player uuni had earned a good trust amongst our players and he rose up to 3rd leader. That was time when X-Tasy had decided to leave cube! and do other things. And so cube was under tender control of uuni and me.

Months passed. Players changed. Over 300 matches in first year. Nice players. Warm mood.

That was time when i decided to continue dod but with a little less effort and again we needed a trusted leader. There was Bonge. Bonge is still our first leader today.


This has been good path to walk. Nice experiences and lovely players.

Kiitos, to everyone who had played in cube. Against cube. Or just hanged around with us. And especially big Kiitos goes to Roksi in ViiRy for helping us at our feet in cold february snow 2004.
