THE SPRING ENGINE GATHERING

This steam site is for fans of the SPRING ENGINE, an OPEN SOURCE RTS (and completely free) game engine and mods, maps and units galore from star wars to total annihilation (chris taylor's first cool game) It includes games like a GUNDAM RTS too! Hopefully, we can get enough of a base here to get people to play with and to help get new players off the ground, spring has been in continuous development since 2004! The BATTLES ARE INTENSE, there are so many mods and alot of players online! So when ya need a break from playing supcom or they do an update and it crashes too much or ya just wanna do something different here ya go!
Go to the main spring site and download spring- here is some links. and a little help.

First off, download the spring engine and install it. Then get yourself some mods ( which are the games) some of them come with thier own maps, then get yourself some maps. CREATE FOLDERS WHERE YOU ARE DOWNLOADING THIS STUFF!!!I like SPRING ENGINE, MODS, MAPS, UTILITIES etc. Then everything is in self- installer packages, dont worry you can install the engine itself anywhere ya want and the maps and mods go into your my documents folder automatically. then go into your Start menu, Spring, settings and set everything the way you want it. NEXT click on SPRING LOBBYthen at to left server, then connect and set up your account and password. (its free, all you have to do is put in a username and password and your good) then connect. ok, you're golden. now to join a game- go to battle list tab at top left and a list of servers to join will appear. no worries if you do not have any files at this point it should download them automatically, but you may not make it into the match. I'll get more into deatil later.
