On Steam, I focused on tactical games like SHOWWII & MOWAS2, and I had completely forgotten that there were also fans for Silent Hunter III (and other similar games).
Now, with this group, I will be able to reconcile the 2, without of course exempting myself from connecting to the SubSim Forum (of which I have been a member since 2011).
But we meet on Steam some interesting people, especially the famous (Chinese) U-47 who is now developing mods for MOWAS2.

Can somoen help me with an issue I am haveing with my periscope? I have twos installed and I can only see the upper 1/4 of my periscope when I look thru it and the rest is black. this is when the scope is extended. I am on SH5. thanks.

@jungle.jamesI think you got the date buggy thing you need to travel around more to get later into the game I played mine heavy modded some of the missions are a date requirement

why on earth would you want to play SH5 unmodded? and why would you want tonnage bar? I don't get it lol

Anyone ever find a working fix for SH5 unmodded not counting tonnage on the bar when you're in the patrol area, you have a green light, and the game is counting the tons properly in the exit menu?

Upon trying to launch, UBI Soft Game Lancher - Error Code 2 is displayed.
I can not launch it.

Gonna ask it here. Hi, I am new to SubSim, and I am not new to Silent hunter series.
I'd been a fan of SH since the first (and to me the most liked) episode of this series. Since then I've played also SH2 and SH3, without mods of course. (BTW I don't like SH2, but I enjoyed SH3).

My question is, since it's thanksgiving, I am considering to buy SHs on steam, however the review about glitches and bugs and all the problem of steam version, including the modding problem, is a major factor for me to decide.

Is the steam version of SH3/4/5 playable? can it be modded like retail version? still lots of glitches and bugs?

If it is playable and major mods can be implemented easily, I think I will rejoin to enjoy the mod that I have never had the chance to experience.
