Subtransit is one of the last surviving Resistance bases. They've lived there over one hundred years because of the Combine threat above. The Resistance derive their power from a modified 650-X Citadel Reactor (Core) powered by Dark Energy. Rumours of a flooded tunnel have been passed around for a long time, but there is doubt this actually exists.

The base is located in and is completely sealed off from the outside world. There have been numerous attempts from people on the outside to get in, be it other surviving Resistance members, Combine troops or Zombies their efforts have been fruitless. There is also no way to get from the inside to the outside.
