Thats right you old Trench Rats, plans are underway to bring the community league back to WW1 Source.

Granted, perhaps less than 3% of you here actually care (so if you do care, please read till end because it is because of that something will happen soon), however, the 3rd Marines will be taking control of the league and will be building it WITH YOU GUYS this time from the ground up so that we will have admins, leaders, leutenants, workers...the whole nine yards already in place before setting off to the trenches this go around so that we do not run into the same problem we had last time in the fact we could not find any reliable help until it was already too late.

As many of you who still play WW1 Source know already, I have stepped down as the leader of the 3rd Marines to pursue a thing called life. My free time was gone and though it still pretty much is, but I still have some life in me left to help finally live out my dream of seeing a community league for WW1 Source take effect. If you are not yet a member on our 3rd Marines Public Steam Group and you want to be able to put your voice into this soon to be league starting up please join off my steam profile. It will be from that steam group that we will now be running the campaign.



I hope everyone here and all our old freinds are doing okay. And for the few of you here who are still WW1 Source fans, I hope that each of you will help me be able to get this league up and running as soon as we can and get the tournaments going once again where we left off!

Okay so we bunked this one pretty bad. Heres the story, we started very well with the campaign and managed to have each commander billet filled and trained with volunteers. However, I had some personal time lost on the week building up to the leagues first match (which yes did happen) and didnt advertise it enough. That, mixed with having sign ups start so early left each Army filled with inactive players and soon to be inactive commanders as well.

So thats where we are left. And this obviously cant do.

So, in the distant future (a month, two or three) we will get the gears rolling again from scratch. We will discharge all registered players and start over garunteeing us this time we will have Armies filled with active players. And we will be selecting/training the leagues commanders BEFORE we open registration as well. But, bad news for the commanders since our last ones flopped. They will be required to maintain a minimum requirment of publicly advertising to their Armies when and where matches are on top of performing their normal duties of keeping their Armies organized, performing trades and keeping detailed stats on the matches and progress of the Campaign.

As I said in the beggining. I will not be running this campaign guys. I do not have the time to. The commanders MUST be willing and prepared to work. Theirs not a chance you may slide by without working, EVERY commander has duties that need to be performed without hitch. So when we have our meeting (which will be announced and publicized as much as possible) to select the campaigns new commanders make sure you know for a fact you will be volunteering at least 2 hours of your time every weekend (thats if you actually play in the match, actual work related to your duties should only take about 30-60 minutes).

And thats that with the campaign news. I have been having a lot of people asking if its dead or not. Trust me, I didnt go to all this trouble to just toss it aside especially when so many of you really wanted this. So no, the campaign is not dead, it just needs to be redone so that it can start off right next time.

And I would get the ball rolling now on the campaign instead of waiting a few months but again (and why I cannot run this league guys) I just dont have enough free time on my hands ATM. I work 12 hour shifts 5 days a week and sometimes get stuck working over 16 hours in just one day (usually Saturday mornings). Its rough but I need the money.
