I'm not sure if I like this game anymore.
Boring old engine (PARTICLE SMOKE, FOR F*CK'S SAKE!), boring ridiculous quests, no gunplay until Act-f*cking-2. It's stickplay for the majority of the game as guns and ammo are expensive as sh!t.
Cheating money and XP are a must with Cheat Engine, just turn VAC off in the options menu. There are mods for this out there. There's an old Steam Forums thread with every Dead Island mod ever made. The mods are definitely useful, for the majority.
Story's okay, though.
Weapon mods are sometimes somewhat inventive.
Overall, probably the best FPZS (first-person zombie-shooter) on the market.
Buy if you have a higher-end computer and lots of patience.

I have over five thousand hours in this game. I have it for Games for Windows LIVE and XBOX 360, now I have my 3rd copy, Steam. I have completely finished the game and every aspect it has to offer time and time again, creating countless mods with the GECK. How did I do this, you may ask? Well, I've played it ever since its US release in 2008 and played nearly every day on my old Windows XP and more recently my Windows 7. The way you get it to work on your Windows 7 is you go to your Documents > My Games > Fallout3 > FALLOUT.INI. In lines 88-89, change bUseThreadedAI to 1 and add iNumHWThreads=2 just after it. This makes the game use Threaded AI and it makes the game use only 2 CPU cores; otherwise the game will continuously crash. After you do this, the game will be more stable than Fallout New Vegas.

Alright. Onto the review.

Setting
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic, retro-futuristic Washington, D.C. following the Great War between the U.S., China, the Soviet Union and other countries. The Great War occurred on October 23, 2077 which caused immense damage and destruction despite lasting less than two hours. Before the Great War, there were the Resource Wars that nearly crippled the world and brought riots to the streets, during which the United Nations disbanded, and a Forced Evolutionary Virus plague coupled with global terrorism rendered the United States paranoid of both real and imagined communist plots. Canada was annexed by the United States in order to help the U.S. war effort against the Chinese in Alaska. The fact that Canada had the plentiful resources of nearly untouched wilderness made America's effort well worth the protection the U.S.A. promised to provide.

The World
Rust, decay, and creeping vegetation infest monuments from before the Great War. Amidst the ruins of Washington, D.C., the Capitol, the Jefferson Memorial and the battered remains of the Washington Monument still stand in the desolate area that is now known as the Capital Wasteland. The central hub of civilization in the ruins of the former capital is Rivet City, based in the remains of an aircraft carrier carried far inland and beached by a catastrophic tsunami whose waters have long since receded. Other settlements include the towns of Megaton, Arefu, Tenpenny Tower and Paradise Falls. Movement through the downtown area and settlements is possible through the Washington Metro tunnels and crossing the desolate nuclear wasteland.
The Brotherhood of Steel community is stationed in the Citadel, built in the ruins of the pre-War Pentagon where they attempt to preserve as much pre-war technology as possible. Super mutants, who since emerging from their refuges, have waged an unceasing war against what remains of humanity, trying to invade their territory and capture them. The Enclave - the self-styled inheritors of the power of the United States government - under the leadership of their new President John Henry Eden and his ruthless second-in-command Colonel Augustus Autumn, are the player's biggest foes in the game.

Emotional Impact
At the very beginning of the game we are introduced to the Player's father, voiced by Liam Neeson. Character development is thown at us in the first few seconds of the game, great start. I shouldn't already be bored within the first 10 minutes of a game. Fallout 3 does very well to keep it that way.
The one (but not only) thing Fallout 3 does fantastic is character development.

There'd be more to this review but I would be spoiling it; if you haven't already done so, BUY THIS GAME!!! WORTH EVERY PENNY! Take it from me, I have 3 copies of this game!

Early Access Review
I love this! As a golfer myself, it's very appealing to the eyes even though it's early access at the moment and plays very well. The greens are slow, and putting is mostly frustrating because you know in real life you'd make that putt. This is suprisingly well done for an early access game. I don't very much like the online leaderboards seeing as I'm a solo-oriented gamer. In my head, no one's better than me at golf xP Golf is sacred in my opinion. But I'd love to see some choice as to whether or not I want to play online, which I don't.

I love playing all the courses. It's great unadulterated fun and I can't wait until the game is done development-wise. I recommend this for all golfer-gamers everywhere.

I cannot play this because the graphics are too outdated for my GPU (GTX 760) so I legitimately can't see anything on the game screen unless I wave my mouse over it, and even then it's difficult to read the text as this game was clearly not made for 1920 x 1080 (60Hz) HD resolutions. The cutscenes were just a mash of 256-bit colours and were unviewable due to my GPU, and I couldn't make out what the images were.
I know for a FACT that ALL Fallout games (save for New Vegas) were and are excellent games. I do recommend this because of its reputation as a solid 10/10 title. Even though I cannot see anything, it's still a good game regardless.

The game's engine makes it so unsightly and ugly that it was dreadful to play. I cheated a bit with experience points so I wouldn't have to grind to finish the story without dying hundreds of times. Also, the "mistakes" in the plot the narrator has is incredibly annoying. It's like killing a room full of enemies and think you're going to move on to the next room, but nope - that very room you died 5 times trying to clear is going to take you another 10 tries just to move on with the story. And speaking of, is chock full of twists and turns that you can almost predict nearing the middle of the story. The title says Gunslinger and that's exactly what it is. The only thing you do is shoot people and listen to the god awful narrator forget what he has to say.
NOT recommended for people who want a decent-looking, nonlinear, and enjoyable playing experience.

This is one of the most amazing games I have ever played. The plot is 85% character development, 10% combat, and 5% exploration. The graphics are stunning and gorgeous; I've noticed a few aspects in this game from Dishonoured, and that's not necessarily bad. It's great, in fact. Well, I don't want to spoil ANY part of the story. It's one of those games where the game is so fantastic that the story is too good to be spoiled. You have to find out for yourself! Get this game!!!! Have fun and enjoy!

GREAT game, especially if you know how to cheat in it! (Transmutation of items using Cheat Engine, unlimited energy, heath, and practically infinite ammo, and we can't forget infinite praxis!)
