The one that worked for me was the one asking to vote in CS:GO lol. Its hard when English is the Language being typed. It was easy to spot when it was coming from my own country and then asked something in FIlipino. the Bot would go haywire

I'd say it's pretty new one considering the scam knows how to bait people to click in PM's, especially work around the whole auto-flag or scanning process that steam has done to deal with prior scams.

I dunno, apparently works since it's worked on several people I know. Steam usually does wipes with the bots, but guess they haven't caught wind of it -- yet.

Those are generic bot messages, RAID Noir.

They're usually sent either in a publicly comment-able profiles or often from friends account's who have been hijacked very recently. (Pretty confident they target high-value accounts, levels, and/or games).

These generic messages are inhumanly out of touch, extremely pathetic at it too, considering the underlying goals of it.

The best way of dealing with these personally is just reporting, deleting works but they'll just migrate and continue.

It's only a matter of time until steam itself, and staff catch the trend through report patterns.

I didn't lose it. But it still somehow taken control of the messaging part via Browser since there was no indication of the chats on Steam client which is why i didnt notice i was sending out those chats until i saw that i suddenly lost friends and my blocked list was larger than i knew

Looks I I did. Noscript managed to block the "account" Hijack but it didn't block the messages being sent out. Sorry. And hopefully people add me back
