2020, 12 years after the game's first release.

Tower defense FPS/RTS relatively simple where you can switch between FPS to RTS mode, where you can buy with energy (currency of the game, gained with time and score) and place structures such as traps, different types of turrets and healing stations. You can also buy with your energy weapons, life or damage upgrades. ALl of this in the goal of defending your stronghold. The match will end if. You can accelerate that by killing officers (strong and rare ennemies that drop a minigun).

-models extremely simple and flat, but coming with awsome textures as a compensation (actually very good for a game that old).
-Multiplayer is dead, but solo is actually fun too, with 8 different maps and 4 difficulty levels (coop is still the best, so having 1 friend minimum to play with is really really enjoyable).
-Even in the middle of a dozen of explosions, the game never freezes.
-good variety of weapons and upgrades.

The game is unavailable on the Steam market, but you can still buy Steam CD Keys of it on some websites (Steam CD key is a reedemable code)

The game has a DLC called "scorched earth" that adds new traps and a new mode called "deathmatch".

I wish i had a friend to play this game with, but tower defense is still working very well with the bots!

If i could clon myself a million times, this game would finally get the player base it deserves.

Total asymetric gameplay (very rare these days) that combines FPS (shooting for marines, biting for aliens, something you will never find in another game) and RTS, where looking at your map is the first thing you learn as a rookie. The commander role is also very interesting, as he watches the whole field, place structures, assist his team, organize the team. You usually get ♥♥♥♥ on since it's an extremely important role to the team, but the good games worth the bad ones.

I thank the devs for their active updates every few months that keep the game well and more alive than enough, but also ♥♥♥♥ the devs for the ♥♥♥♥ features we are getting these days, and also for ignoring the Per Team hive skill that the community have been asking for years (NS2 is a high skill ceiling game, where a good marine / lifeform usually makes the difference).

WARNING: The game is very hard to handle at the start because you have to get used to maps, room names, to all the tech, learn how to use a lifeform, learn commander if you want... Lots of things to do, lots of things to learn. But if you persist, and like it, then it will become your favorite game. You will notice that if someone ever played NS he either has 5 hours played, or 5 thousands.

The small player base wont always allow you to play on the servers you have a good ping on, and you will often have to wait in spectating until a slot gets free. But there will always be 1 server full if not 20, and i never regretted once.

Don't judge my english please, it's just like an NS2 update: not very good.

My favorite game, and will always be.
