**2024 - 1896 Update**
LOTS of big changes. Engine upgrade, new map, new side-boss, new UI, and lots more. I've noticed that desync, trades, bullet hit-reg have felt ALOT better. The UI is a bit funky but they are actively updating it. It's suprising that there aren't too many crazy bugs with how massive an update this is. The changes they made to burning and necro make fights end quickly if you don't act fast. The meta on release is mostly fire related ammo but i think status effects in general. It feels like when they first added custom ammo and it feels brutal but fun.

This is honestly the best time to get into the game.

**2023 - Gator Questline**
Traps are far and few between but manageable. Finished up event with with 72 minutes left to spare. The devs have a new GM that promises lots of core fixes and seasonal events. Looking forward to it

**2022 - Snake Event**
They removed the leaderboards then immediately added one for the event so lul. Servers as bad as can be, new cheat clients are rampant, it's not a good look for hunt right now. Event is fun with their first edition of the event battlepass but other than that, it's in a barely playable state (worse than usual). Finish the event and then play something else. For your sanity.

**2022 - 1.9 Update**
New spammy compact and medium weapons and since the poison bullets don't reduce and damage. New meta is poison sparks and spam pistol. This game is really going to ♥♥♥♥ with this new meta. Hope the new snake event makes up for it...

**2021 - Winter Solstice Update:**
Event and skins are much better than previous events. Finding and earning event points feels more meaningful with them being more present around the map and more points being given for looting dead hunters. The winter contracts are pretty neat. Rewarding PvE gameplay more than PvP. I wish you could have the option to bring wormseed shots as well but maybe next event. Only took a few days since there is no data cap but still took a while to get. Quickplay definitely is the best mode to get the fastest earnings for the event points.

Other then the event:
The game is currently in a bad state.

- Dualies are busted and being used almost every game
- Nobody going for objective (and if they do it's *only* to 3rd party)
- Blantant aimbotters/wallers (not being banned or buying new accounts because the game went on sale)
- MMR not really mattering or reflecting actual skill, along with previously stated issues.
(never prestige = infinite money, desync, ping abusing, hit-reg, ect...)

All these issues together make the game quite hard to palate in it's current state.

Keep that in mind if you're considering purchasing.

**The Harvest: Update**
Event is somewhat lackluster compared to previous events due to the spawn of pumpkins being decreased. Sometimes you find 2-3 in a building and if you're lucky, a scarecrow guy outside but other times there are none in a compound. I really miss being able to shoot more side-objectives. I really wish that they had increased the spawn-rate of pumpkin-related items and decreased the amount of event points it gave.

The new skins are a bit lame but fit well with the look of the game and being able to get the previous Halloween event skins is sweet for people who missed it. Please make the next event have more side-objective items!! I love to shoot them!!!

**Light the Shadow - Update**
Event is very poggers but hit-reg and desync are still the main issues of this game. They said that they are trying to work on but and I hope that's true. Game is still fun but can get annoying when you trade when you know you shot first or die because the server decided that you actually wanted to slip off that roof you were on lool.

I wish they would add trials for the new map that includes the use of the the "new" special ammo types and new weapons. Also since there is a new map, I think i'd be pretty cool to get some more achievements such as the one where you explore all the locations in one game (for the new map) and maybe something that uses the new weapons or is particularly challenging.

They are slowly working on optimizing the game more but this game still runs like worse compared to Escape from Tarkov for some reason. Anyways game is pretty satisfying and fun to play. Remember that it's just a game :)

**Update 1.4.4**
1.4.4 isn't going to be the death of this game.

It's going to be the omnipresent desync issues, shoddy hit reg, and laughable cpu optimization that has been in the same since beta release in 2016.
