This game may be the BEST paradox games for three reasons:
1) It has a comprehensive socio-economic population system that is very complex - so much so that most people who play the game barely understand it.
2) It employs a deep economy system that gives all who attempt to master it a real challenge.
3) It has interesting mechanics: colonization is fun, technology is well-designed, trade is interesting, and overall the military part of the game is rather challenging.
