Melding new with old, From Software returns to the cult classic Armored Core franchise with Fires of Rubicon. Much of the mechanics in the game are extrapolated upon (damage and movement in particular seeing significant overhauls to punish reckless play,) the controls are streamlined and allow for players to use all equipped weapons at once, and customization is incredibly granular and rewarding when you finally create the "perfect build." If you've never played an Armored Core game, this is the one to play.

Dripping with atmosphere and cosmic dread, Signalis is a short, tense affair that features a unique aesthetic, excellent soundtrack and sound design, countless easter eggs and secrets to uncover, and a truly unforgettable story that pays homage to An Inhabitant of Carcosa and The King In Yellow. By far one of the best classic survival horror experiences to come out in recent years.

While the game itself is an absolute blast to play, Bethesda absolutely screwed the pooch when they decided to retroactively change the price from free to 10 dollars. You're better off finding a rip of Quake 3 and port forwarding to play with friends

As someone who doesn't really enjoy roguelikes, this game kicks major ass.

Rockstar's take on the Max Payne franchise is leagues more visceral and violent than its predecessors, and its fidelity and sound still impress to this day. However, Max Payne 3's enjoyment is hindered by a myriad of cutscenes that interrupt gameplay, excessive handholding for most encounters, and a shallow, incompetently told story that takes itself far too seriously.

If you can put up with the story and constant interruptions, it's genuinely good fun. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Remedy's farewell to Max Payne hones its predecessor's finest qualities to a sharp edge and weaves a tragic tale of grief, lust, and deception.

What was once a colossal failure in the height of the 8th console generation has become a multi-platform juggernaut that finally achieved its goal of celebrating the greatest shooter there ever was.

Years after Receiver garnered acclaim for its unique premise and granular gunplay, Wolfire returned with a sequel that oozes of ambition, chock full of changes like improved weapon mechanics, visceral sound design, and atmospheric scenery so immaculately realized that virtually every room would look good as a desktop wallpaper. Were it not for the lacking variety of weapons and enemies, or the absolutely dreadful demotion mechanic, this game would be absolutely perfect.
