it was interesting mechanics, pretty easy in my opinion, was hearing people claim its hard and watching streamers make a mess out of it, but dont worry about that if you have the mental capacity above the age of 5 years old this game is pretty simple to understand and easy.

i still prefer front mission series really and that turn base and damage system, but this brings a cool map progression feel. although yeah i had to stop myself as the game was a bit laggy for me, but im putting that down to my own rig. it might actually work better on my external ssd because i think alot of slowdown in games now is due to my old hdd actually.

if you dont have a SSD i dont recommend this game. if you do have a SSD i recommend it.

sadly i didnt notice it required a SSD until it ran like rubbish and i noticed it has a SSD requirement.
ill have to wait until i upgrade to play this properly now, and i dont like upgrading too much as im a normal person on a normal budget in a time when rent is higher than minimum wage, and when my boss is acting really annoying and deducting my wages too, so yeah, depends, it could be a good game but it requires too much additional costs for me in the way of upgrades. would be a good game though, guess ill have to wait on it for a while until i see a decent cheap discount modern updated laptop.

its pretty good so far. and im sure its gonna get miles better with lots more expansions to add to it.
to be fair given its a vanilla base game state its pretty damn good for a paradox game, usually paradox games release a bit too vanilla and only get good when they release the rest of the game as DLC but this in its base form is pretty high standards for a paradox game and shows that its only gonna get really good later on.

to newcomers to this title though its more of a economic political simulator and less of a paint the map and war spammer. you will be mainly focusing on sorting and fixing your economy constantly micromanaging and ballancing it to ensure you economy gets the goods it needs, while also ballancing the needs of your people and their ideas and internal laws in order to try and create the nation to your ideals or to suit and make happy your population and to try increase their quality of life. your economy can fail drastically especially if you was at first reliant on anothers market then leave it without realising you now have none of the resources you need lol it also makes war have real purpose.... because say later on you realise you need some resource that you dont have in your lands, then you search globally where this resource can be found and realise your gonna have to war and take someone elses land if you wish to get that resource for your market. this really puts real reason behind war when you have war, rather than just global dominance or paining the map you will instead be warring for one specific region you wanted that has a resource your economy needs. so it makes war have real purpose behind it, and you probably dont wanna add more strange foreign populations and lands to your nation as it causes all sorts of internal issues, but youd want the resources, so it puts you in a realistic mindset of how nations are actually run.

good game so far, has me hooked. its kinda like a person saw xcom and decided to make a more realistic version of it based more on a back seat political control style rather than combat, but still having armies to order and nukes and the ability to build space defence ships and so on. your one of a few organisations each with their own plan to save humanity and take it forward each doing what they think is best for humanity against the coming alien prescence but ofcourse which one is right is subjective. your organisation has to do alot of shadow work trying to expand your influence or take control of nations under your organisation which other organisations do the same, id say its a slow paced game, its turn based global political solar sim competing against the other organisations while your all trying to prepare humanity for how humanity will deal with the aliens. its a slow burning game that you can sit back and relax and chill over time playing.

early access at the moment, but it doesnt feel early access, it feels pretty full. which is a good sign as most games release in early access in aweful condition now but yet this feels like a legit full game release.

i like and recommend the game, but i aint gonna lie, it does feel more like a early access game at the moment lol anyone else feel that way or is it just me?

anyway the game is good for the crowd its aimed at. if your a RPG d&d type player you wont care how shoddy it feels, still delivers good experience and provides us our d&d fix.

pretty good so far.
a last stand tower defence game, your gonna die, but it doesnt matter. it doesnt even feel like game over when you die but more of a reincarnation and has good continuation, each go and death through is like a attempt to unlock more stuff so that your future play throughs can be easier. so its kinda designed so that you kinda need to go through and lose to unlock stuff anyway. not that its really losing but instead feels more like continuation.

good replayability. havent cleared the first 10 stages yet which is all they have at the moment. will require a lot of playthroughs to unlock stuff to do that. then hopefully they will add more map areas or stages or whatever.

pretty decent game though.

still dont recommend it
garbage game that doesnt stick to its own rules, you can fight a 1 tile state and they will magice a 100k army from nothing with the power of lies and cheats. dont play this game, play a better coded game that doesnt need infuriating cheats on a obvious overblown level to put a fake challenge up.

to the devs.... learn to code!

i really want to reccomend this game but i cant as you will just end up spending hours running down paths that go nowhere as 99.99% of the game world is unusable pointless area and its so massive you will literally spend a good 5 hours lost in a blank part of the map trying to find any building at all or any sign of a town. but most of the time you will remain lost. the game map is aweful, really needs to be condensed down to all the game being usable town area or at least needs a active mini map that can scale out and show you the way back to town or anywhere remotely usable.

its like warband but it looks worse quality lol
the state its in too is absolutely atrocious and makes me think that consoles are far more superior, yes its that bad. and no, they cannot hide behind the term "early access" as they had hoped to because havent they had more than enough time? and yet they release it in such a state that id say they havent been working on it at all, a state that id say that warband mods are more advanced and better than this in every single way? others have said similar, but they praised the graphic quality increase.... i will go one worse and say they was being very kind with their reviews, there isnt even a graphical quality increase! lol its gone worse graphically and it looks goofy, sorta like a ps2 game. they havent been working on this game and it shows, they must have some sort of problems in their dev team, maybe their workers all went on strike for 8 years? anyways id give this a pass, even when they fix the mess it will still be a lame game with hardly any improvement or advancement from the last one.
