It's definitely an improvement of mechanics in the series, however I think the deck building and unit variety leave a lot to be desired. I much prefer the unit choices of Wargame: Red Dragon more. Older titles you had more versatility with playstyles. WARNO constrains your options and it makes it a little less fun in that aspect, but the quality of life improvements and AI/orders are really nice now.

What I'd like to see is:
more Nations/Units.
combat that isn't always meeting engagements
more infantry choices.

The infantry is very weak compared to older titles.

Great game, I definitely got my money;s worth just in the first 3 day weekend with Labor day. I paid $100 for preorder (I don't typically preorder but I figured it was worth a shot). Very much satisfied. I love the shipbuilding. I only encountered one game breaking bug which made me revert about half an hour of time, but I saved frequently. The quest markers also seem to be a little finicky. I think Bethesda has laid a great groundwork for the game, and I expect that they will continue to push updates, and with the mods that I forsee coming this will surely be as replayable as Skyrim. It's what I would also descrive as a fallout 4 in space. I noticed a few reused sounds. I also would say some areas of the game look a little dated graphically, but others are well in line with 2023 standards. I will say my biggest gripe is base building, it's not nearly as fleshed out as even fallout 4, and even the shipbuilding is better.

Shouldn't have to buy the same game 3 times. Totally disjointed the modding community which is 90% of Skyrim.

First and foremost, it's not a bad game, but it's far too early in development to pay $35 for. I got it on sale for $19.99 and I don't think in its current state it's worth more than $10. The editor is very buggy at times. The performance falls significantly if you increase the graphics, but the graphics don't actually improve much at all. I've never managed to play the campaign because it doesn't load. I'd like to come back and change my review at some point but until then I cannot recommend this game for full price.

Can't login to an existing account through the steam client. I only downloaded the Steam client because my regular wargaming.net game center client has quit working, despite numerous fresh installs. I've put money into a game I can no longer play.

After putting in a lot of time on and off the game trying to figure out the needlessly complicated controls, I've failed. Even once you grasp the building mechanics, the mechanics of AI and all the hundreds of blocks and their orientations, it's all still way too overcomplicated. I really want to like this game, love it even, but it is far far far too complicated to even do the most basic of things, with no oppertunity to gradually add complex features into gameplay.

I like it, But it's very limited in what you can do. The Game seems to be balanced to make sure that none of the factions decimate each other and the map stays forever in a neverending war. This is great if that's all you want, but there's no serious way to go about taking over large swathes of the map for your own kingdom. You're limited in how many workshops you can own, enemy nobbles escape your prisons and are back on the field with 100 guys in less than a day or two. Executing them makes everyone hate you, even your allies.

The only "correct" way to play the game in the developers eyes it seems is to gather an army, and battle, recruit, battle recruit until the heat death of the universe. Nothing to really do late game. I've got 200 guys in my army, all top tier knights I slaughter everything, execute every enemy lord, got a few castles of my own, everyones relation is -100. Got a million in the bank. Nothing to do tho :(

I can't explain how moddable this game is. Live the life you want in the apocalypse. It's worth the money.
