A timeless classic with a story that is more relevant now than it was 20+ years ago. The game might feel a bit dated because of it's fixed perspective, but it doesn't take very long to get acquainted with the controls and become immersed in the story. MGS2 is one of my favorite singleplayer games of all time, and as I get older I appreciate it more. It had been 8 years since my last playthrough of MGS2 and this port ended up being very solid after a few updates. At launch it was a mess, so I waited until it was fixed. The current version supports cloud saves, so I've been able to play on my PC and my Steam Deck with the same save file seamlessly. I definitely recommend the MGSHDFIX mod for playing this game at high resolutions though. Konami didn't go above and beyond with this PC port, but it is a solid PC port of a game that I otherwise could only play on my PS3.

konami put MB coins in this game and gave online items long development times to try to incorporate some clash of clans type ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ into this game. these microtransactions definitely were not kojima's vision for this game but it's the only way to unlock FOB3 and FOB4 without playing at least 3 days a week for a few years straight.

best indie 3d platformer i've ever played. map design, movement, and items+upgrades that any metroid fan will appreciate. a few areas are easy to get lost in due to there being no map, and the boss battle was a bit repetitive and disorienting. overall, a great game with great style and unique gameplay that is absolutely worth playing, especially at it's low price.
