Thank you epic games for destroying another great game with your greedy business tactics.

This is probably my favorite call of duty of all time.
The multiplayer is well balanced(for the most part),
teamwork will actually get you further unlike in the previous parts of the series,
and overall its great for a couple of rounds if you have nothing to do.
The singleplayer offers a lot of different choices that will influence your story ending
and other things such as characters that fight by your side,even if just slightly.
The zombiemode is probably the biggest reason to buy this game,as it offers a ton of story
and new elements to previous parts. Youre going to need the season pass though if you actually want to play
through all of it. If you just want the basegame,buy it off a keystore for 10 bucks and enjoy your bargain.

Without a doubt the best game ive ever purchased. I bought the game when it was on sale(the GOTY edition) for 12 bucks,which is something i recommend for everyone since the game aswell as the DLC can be ludicrously expensive otherwise. Im a little over 100 hours into the game and im nowhere near bored nor have i tried out everything that the game has to offer. The replay-ability in general is just insane with multiple different plans/outcomes for most of the heists,the ability to either sneak through,run in screaming at civilians and security so they surrender or open fire immediately on sight together aswell as the five different skilltrees that can be used simultaneously,the options are close to endless.


Ive seen a lot of people complain about the amount of DLC for this game,and i agree,its quite overwhelming and makes a really bad first impression on new players. I personally own most of the DLC apart from a couple of packs that i simply dont want/need,and the total amount of money ive spent on payday+DLC is still way below the average triple A title.
Dont be impatient,wait for one of the very frequent sales and buy the game aswell as DLC only on those sales. This should help keep the cost down.

I wouldnt suggest picking up the game itself without any DLC though,there arent all that many weapons in the basegame,
and some of the essentials like a good grenade launcher for higher difficulties are just simply not available for a basegame player. While this is certainly a big problem,overkill keeps publishing viable free alternatives to the DLC weapons and equipment.


TL;DR: Great game,especially if you play it with friends. Buy it on a sale along with some DLC so that you can enjoy everything payday 2 has to offer without going bankrupt.

Wait a couple of months,maybe it'll actually run then.

OLD REVIEW:

I really enjoyed this game during the first few alpha tests. Yes,its a lot like clash royale,but it still had some unique elements to it. However,im unwilling to support a developer that puts microtransactions and premium currency in his early-access pay2play game. This is just wrong on so many levels,atleast finish developing the game before milking the playerbase even more.

NEW REVIEW 2019:

Damn me,they actually changed a lot of stuff and im having tons of fun playing duo-ranked with a friend. This is free2play done right in my opinion,everything is rather transparent and its not that hard to get a deck that will compete even on higher levels. Ofcourse,getting the most expensive decks out there will still take time or money depending on your preference,but the thing is,not everything thats expensive beats stuff thats common/available to you from the start. Honestly,all i can say at this point is that you should definitely try it out,even if you didnt like it 2 years ago like me. Its amazing how they did a 180 on their business model.

If you enjoy fast team-based shooters,this game is for you.
