I think it's decent soul-like game. Combat is bit more fluid and emphasize on various builds by matching blood code (classes), weapon, and gift (spell) with scaling system. Spell is more friendly and accessible. Four weapon / armor types but offer different animation and distinct gameplay. It's also story-driven game but "very anime" and straightforward. World-building and detail are intriguing tho. Keep it mind there are lot of bad design like linear maze-like level and cheap boss moveset. So, it does something better than DS and bad in some aspects. I think you can have good time with low expectation and game usually sale from time to time.
