Gameplay is awesome and some locations are gorgeous but the story is terrible and the optimisation is even worse

After finishing the main campaign, I have decided to change my review to overwhelmingly positive. They seem to have already resolved many issues (textures not loading in is still pretty common). But, looking past the issues, the game is absolutely incredible, with gorgeous combat, locales, and of course monsters. Out of all of the monster hunter games I've played, this one rises far about as the clear best and is 100% worth the money.

Underrated series

Great horror game to play with mates. There is plenty of enemy and map variety and the difficulty settings and buffs you can unlock are great. Only being able to hold one item at a time was a bit annoying at the start but you get used to it.
My only problem is that if the monster screams, it can be impossible to tell where its coming from. This can be a pretty big problem if you are towards the end of a level and the monster is super aggro

One of the best Coop horror games I've played. Hopping on with 3 or 4 friends is a really fun experience and the game can be as chill or as challenging as you want, with good puzzles and stealth

Really fun game to play with a friend. Jumpscares are great but not super obnoxious. Hearing my friend scream over the radio is hilarious. It can be quite stressful and needs really good communication and teamwork. Definitely worth the small price

Literal infinite replayability with awesome characters and items. Beautiful level design and banger OST
