I didn't expect 2023's GOTY to come so early for me, but I genuinely don't know what could top this experience for me in how well it delivered everything it promised and more in a neat package.

Hi-Fi Rush is one of those games that comes along every once in a blue moon that just executes it's concept so astronomically well that it cements itself as an instant hit, and I think most people who played this game caught on pretty quick that they were in for an incredibly unique experience. It's very clear a lot of love and passion went into this project, and you can literally feel the amount of fun the developers had on making this game echoed as you journey through it.

But what is Hi-Fi Rush? Well, at it's most basic it's a Rhythm game with hack and slash elements, but that alone doesn't do it a lot of justice, and while I wish I could spend a lot of time elaborating, I think i'll just hit the key points:

• Features an immaculate soundtrack that has been curated extensively to bring out the very best of every moment.
  
• Game mechanics and stages designed from the ground up to bring the reactive music to a new level.
  
• A memorable 10-12 hour journey of an unlikely band of misfits who will quickly worm themselves into your heart.
  
• Top tier comedic writing that features some of the most organic slapstick humor I've seen in a hot minute.

I think these core concepts really bring the whole experience together to create something beautifully artistic and genuinely fun to play, and it's genuinely hard for me to not give this game an 11/10.

For those who are worried about the shorter-side of the games length, I want to add that the post-game content can easily eat up a good fair bit of your time. There's some additional things to track down and explore, and there's also a pretty exhaustive list of in-game goals to aspire to for those who want to tack their rhythm hack and slash needs to the highest level of mastery.

Overall, I can't recommend this enough. It's truly one of the most video games of all time, and I promise you're in a for a good session when you plug into this game and let yourself flow with the immaculate vibes.
