Good game overall

The core gameplay is engaging, offering a variety of traps, weapons, and abilities to experiment with. The blend of tower defense mechanics with third-person action combat keeps the experience dynamic and rewarding.

Voice Chat Without Text Chat: A Missed Opportunity

The recent addition of voice chat in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap is a welcome improvement for cooperative play, but the absence of a basic text chat option feels like a frustrating oversight. While voice chat can help with real-time coordination, it’s not an ideal solution for every player. Many prefer text communication for clarity, accessibility, or simply avoiding the chaos of open mics.

For a strategy-heavy game where precise trap placement and teamwork matter, the lack of a text chat feature limits effective communication—especially for players who don’t use a microphone or prefer typing quick messages. It’s also a missed opportunity for accessibility, as some players may struggle with or be unable to use voice chat.

While the core gameplay remains strong, and the addition of voice chat is a step in the right direction, a simple text chat feature would have provided a more inclusive and flexible way for players to communicate. Hopefully, the developers will address this in a future update to make teamwork smoother for all players.
