I am just blown away, the way the full feature anime cutscenes transition into game engine cutscenes, then again into gameplay itself is just amazing. When first loading up the game, I noticed "Studio Ghibli" and the quality of the artwork just clicked: I'm in for an fantastic story. I find it wild to be playing such a high quality anime game, I love the "Tales of ..." series but they don't hold a candle to this, but being put up against Studio Ghibli isn't fair.

Much prettier than the first, but EA, please, port the story mode content from the consoles to PC, they'd work so beautifully on Deck. Until Bustin' Out gets ported to PC, emulation and this is worth it.

This is the best moral justification for piracy. If only they would port story mode or the stuff they added to consoles instead of just a sandbox. Sandboxes are fun and all but I lose interest fast.

It's another classic entry in the final fantasy series, doesn't have the iconic characters yet, but there was a huge improvement in the magic system. The use of mana points vs X amount of spells at Y level is, IMO, an improvement. However the characters seem like they're all the same on the battle field because they can all learn the same magic, maybe the couldn't all wear the same types of gear but there was nothing stopping me from training each character on each weapon type and each spell except for how long it would take. There are a couple chests that are easy to miss and require a replay through to get, which is a PITA but nothing compared to the patience needed for the bestiary achievements. Solid story with a nod to your fallen comrades, very enjoyable.

Perfecting the game feels so good, just wandering around waiting for the right mob to show up, wondering if you're in the right area until you finally see the mob you're missing, such a nice little hit of dopamine.

It's a classic JRPG that's got a fairly simple spell system and doesn't seem to have anything to do with later titles in this series, but enjoyable none the less.

Completing the bestiary was a pain but so satisfying.

This game feels like a cash grab aimed at nostalgia. They stripped out key mechanics like rival marriages, making things easier but taking away the challenge of racing against the clock that made the original fun. The lack of proper storage for materials is another annoying flaw that just makes managing your farm a hassle. It seems like they took out features to make the game simpler, but it just feels shallow and lazy. I was expecting the original and got a disappointing delivery instead. I was looking forward to enjoying the "Harvest Moon" franchise on PC but I'm better off emulating it.

Devs added BattleEye and there's no mention of it on their Store page.

I just tried launching the game and BattleEye didn't stop me, but I also didn't play 'cause I don't want a ban.
Not worth it, there's a BattleEye file in the games install folder, I hope R* fixes this but I doubt it.

There's no cloud save, gonna have to figure out how to sync the game between my desktop and Steam Deck myself. This is so disappointing, it's a good game and put me on the edge of my seat, noping the ♥♥♥♥ out to the monster, but not having a cloud save for the game just kills it --lost too much data without backups.

This is a good game but the use of slang kills me, I don't know what "rizzing" is and I don't care, adults should talk like adults and leave the stupid slag to the kids, who don't make any bloody sense.

Please, don't try to "connect" with the youth by using their language, let their lingo die off like all the other garbage that doesn't serve the utility of meaningful communications.

Addendum: Besides those complaints, I've enjoyed what the devs did in terms of game-play, story, characters, and the zombies, but I feel like some story elements are missing something, maybe I'm just not following close enough along but there's one scene where the player character walks into a room with another character and the second character has this realization moment where they start saying "it's all my fault" and I'm going "did I miss something, how do you know it's your fault, all I saw you do is look around a room real quick then start taking the blame".

Also, the Colonel's speeches are unbearable, preaching about all not being homophobic, transphobic, sexist, racist, xenophobia, bigot all while I'm sitting here, an introvert, going "why would I want to do anything like that to get people's attention?" I get it, don't be a bad person, now please stop beating me with it, I don't give a &*$% what you do with your life, $%^& you for implying I'm a bad person for not doing any of those things, but still getting called them anyways because I think edgy humor is funny.

Just . . . IDK, any time they mention something that happened in the real world, it just takes me out of the game. Beyond being lazy by using real-world events instead of creating in-game events, because people already "know" of the real-world events, I don't understand why they don't reference other in-game events from other games, maybe not enough in-game events that people would know that all share an in-game world? IDK, I'm just not interested in real-world events.
