tl;dr yes you should buy this. For $8, it's worth the cash imo.*

To go into slightly more detail, Flare Nuinui Quest is a platformer with some pretty clear inspirations it wears on its belt. Pretty much every main character plays like a platformer protagonist you would know. Flare is like Megaman, Noel is kind of similar to Shantae, Marine is similar to Shovel Knight in some ways, and Pekora is a lot like Plague Knight. This is hardly a bad thing, and it makes most of the actions of the characters pretty easy to pick up.

-Campaigns-
The main Flare campaign is fantastic and I have pretty much no complaints about it. I would speedrun it. It's great. You should buy the game just for this.

Noel campaign is one I have not finished while writing this, but it seems slightly strange in its inclusion. You can already play every stage as Noel in the Flare campaign, so I'm not sure why there's a new mode. No harm in it, but seems a bit meh.

Pekora I also have not fully completed, but it seems a bit more on the difficult side to pick up, similar to how Plague Knight's campaign is one of the more difficult ones for beginners.

-The One I don't Like-
The only campaign I've played all the way through I did not enjoy was Marine's. To admit my bias, this campaign is more of a time attack type campaign, where the levels are short chunks. This is already not my favorite style of gameplay to begin with. The game did not dissuade me from my feelings. Marine herself feels more momentum based than someone like Shovel Knight, which makes some of the movements feel a bit luck dependent. She also has a grappling hook, which I frankly never felt like I got the hang of. The big thing for me though was the difficulty was all over the place. There was easy levels for 3 or 4 worlds and then I got stuck on Yamato 2 for like 15 minutes. This happened a couple times, especially with bosses. Some bosses did not work well in Marine's format for me. One late game boss is based around blowing the character into a pit, which is fine when falling into that pit only does slight damage and you have a double jump. When that pit is instant death, now I have to play really patiently, which is way less fun.

Maybe Marine just isn't for me, but by the end I was playing out of obligation. Still, the game has more than enough content I love that it's absolutely worth the buy

Shovel Knight is a fantastic game, and it's better than ever before

I mean, what can I say that hasn't been said about Undertale? It's a fantastic game that should definitely be in your steam library.
