No Humor: Part Two - by Ten Year Old Squeaker

In a small rural town where life’s quiet as a mouse,
Lives an old grump in a small wooden house.
He has a hunched back, and a hairline receding,
And no sense of humor, which sorely he’s needing.

Every morning this man is up before dawn,
Reading his paper and scaring kids off his lawn.
While riding his bicycle, one of the kids happened too close,
And drew aggro from Keyes who shouted “This kid is toast!”
Keyes reached for his cane, stood and straightened his back,
And hobbled out of his wooden front door to attack.
The kid’s bike was fast but Keyes’ insults were faster,
Screamed he “Stay off my grass, you heathen disaster!”

The kid heard the shout and stopped his bike with a skid,
And scratched his head puzzled, wondering what he just did.
So the boy named Squeaker turned deftly around,
And saw the old grump who weighed three hundred pounds.
Keyes stood on his stoop with his mouth left agape,
As Squeaker replied “Get a life, you crusty old ape!”
Keyes couldn’t believe what he’d just seen and heard,
For as Squeaker took off, he gave Keyes the bird.
