Kenshi is a really great game. Bug people, Ninjas, a Post-Apocalypse setting, it has everything I like.
The world's story is what you make of it.

>You can be the Zero To Hero who vanquishes oppression and makes everyone's lives in a better place.

>Or you can be the Conqueror who eliminates the city-states who are getting in your way.

>You can be a simple farmer, living on his own with his dog companion and just trying to get by.

>You can start out as a slave, make friends in your mining prison, and work with them to escape your fate. and then later come back stronger, and liberate the oppressed (or friends) that you had to leave behind.

My favorite roleplaying scenario is the Slave Start.
Having to try and make a plan to escape a slave-town in the isolated mountains is hard but very rewarding. Sometimes everyone makes it out alive, sometimes your companions die, sometimes they lose a limb (or multiple) and you told them that "nobody gets left behind" and so you carry them on your back trying to run through a gate full of armed guards who may very well chop off your own limbs and prevent you from ever escaping again...but that is the price you are willing to pay in the name of friendship.
Just because the world is uncaring doesn't mean that you have to be. Forge your own path, and show the world that people are stronger together.

The story starts out slow in A Realm Reborn, and many people find it a bit boring to get through, as the game goes through the effort to World Build and immerse yourself in it by giving you information about things that are not always "relevant to the story" as a whole. Many of the early quests feel as if you are just running errands, with the occasional fight. It isn't a bad thing per se, some people just require more excitement to be invested.

However, A Realm Reborn set the foundation for the rest of the game, and it pays off, especially in Endwalker. The game has one of the most memorable stories I have ever experienced.

The music in FF14 is also AMAZING, there's so many songs in the game that you will always remember, as well as many songs that will immerse you in the moment during certain story beats. It just really drives home how great the game is to me, as someone who loves music, music is a big portion of what I think makes a good game, and FF14 has great music all around. The game also does not stick to a single genre or style of music, there's a lot of variety. Masayoshi Soken (as well as the other composers of the game) continues to make amazing songs for the game, even Post-Endwalker.

=<VERY SMALL SPOILER AHEAD>=

I was going through heavy depression at the time, Final Fantasy 14 gave me the push I needed to try and better myself, to connect closer with the people I hold dear. Not to say this task has been any easier for me, as I suffer from a social anxiety disorder, ADHD and a few other things, but I have been trying. It did not "cure" me of my depression, but it gave me the inner strength to confront it on a deeper level within myself.

"We cannot give in to Despair" is one of the running messages in the game...that no matter how bad things get, we have to keep moving forward, that we choose our own path, that we can always choose to help each other, no matter how bad things may look in the moment.
"Thy Life is a riddle, to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen, to suffer, to entrust unto tomorrow"

Just an absolutely amazing game overall, I think.

I can't really say much about what I love without spoiling the entire game but...The gameplay is solid and actually pretty fun, despite being "just" a card game.

Despite the game being a "horror" game, the game doesn't seem to do any cheap tricks like jumpscares (maybe a few small things can be considered one, but they aren't huge to me), or intense gore, instead it uses the atmosphere, lack of lighting, and character personalities to drive the "horror" aspect, without attempting to try really hard in making you feel uneasy. and i think thats what a good horror game should do.

Not only that, but the mysteriousness and the atmosphere the game throws you into at the start really sets the mood for the entire game...and once you finish "Act 1", well...the game is nothing like it led you to believe, though the core gameplay is still there throughout all 3 acts, with some new stuff thrown in to spice things up.
I nominated this game for the "Most Innovative Gameplay" during the 2021 Steam Awards, because I truly feel they went all out to make as a unique experience as they possibly could.

I really enjoyed playing through this game & as of this review, I have 100% of the Steam Achievements.

I heavily suggest buying this game and playing it at least twice. There are a lot of secrets to be found. My first playthough took me about just under 12 hours I think.

I have been wanting a game like this for a long time, especially since , ScaleBound was cancelled all those years ago.

I am only a couple of matches in the game as of this review, but I really love the game so far.

>It's free to play, and doesn't shove predatory business practices down your throat. The shop consists of what I assume is cosmetic only items, and you can seemingly earn them for free as well.
I noticed there is a "Battle Pass" type system, but I didn't notice anything that told me I had to buy it. So it seems to be the games way of progression.

>The game looks great, I was surprised that the game is only 5GB, and yet the game looks very detailed, which I assume means they optimized it.

>The dragons in general look great. There is even BABY Dragons that look REALLY adorable when you hatch eggs.

>The only thing I have to say about the game that needs to be worked on is, I think a PVE Mode in some way would go a long way.
You could keep Multiplayer Free To Play and maybe charge a purchase fee for the "Story Mode" or whatever kind of PVE content would fit best.

The dragon aerial combat is already there, and I think it'd be great if there was grounded combat for said PvE/Story Mode.

Maybe even a "wave survival" mode where you and your dragon have to survive as long as possible, just to give one idea that could work.

I love this game. The music is great, and I love the building options the game gives you. I have seen some very amazing builds from others, most of which I can't even begin to understand how they made it they way they did.

I don't have a lot to say really other than it is one of those games best played by yourself at first. Or on harder difficulties with more people. The harder difficulties are also great because of the exclusive items and stuff you can get on them. and its satisfying having a world on Master mode, because it keeps you on your toes even in the overworld.

Not to mention the free updates this game has had over the last few years, They could've easily charged money for "DLC" or stuff like that but they didn't.

Overall it's a 10/10 game for me, and worth the money.

The game added Smallen (Baby Fallen) to the game during Season of The Splicer, I have never felt so much joy in all my years as a Crayon Eater. We must protect them, we must raise them under the guiding light of The Traveler. Children are the future, with the Eliksni and Humanity working side by side we will usher in a new age of triumph against The Darkness.
Only by working together, with Eliksni, Humanity, and Cabal can we defeat Savathun, push back the Darkness Doritos, and show the Darkness that we can use Stasis against them, for the greater good.

DEFEND THE SMALLEN, GUARDIANS.

Made by people who really love the games they make. :) I only have 10 hours on Steam on this new account, but I have been playing their games since 2008.

One of my favorite things about Valheim is the charming simple artstyle, paired with the very atmospheric and aesthetically immersive weather.
I love being on the shoreline, or having built my base on a small island in the middle of the ocean overlooking the ocean, watching the large waves and the water level rise very high briefly with extreme winds blowing about.
I love having a base in the snow biome, during a blizzard, and really feeling like I am in a cold place, making it to the safety of my Fort on the mountain from the harsh weather, greeted by my pet wolves who are there to comfort me.

EDIT: I am against the new "Security Update" and have changed my review to "No".
Easy Anti-Cheat does not do anything to hinder the bad people they claim to be using it against.

So far I've been really enjoying trying out avatars and exploring the cool worlds people make.
