Early Access Review
So I bought the game on steam, and was immediately having a bit of a technical issue with the UI and my Rift S hardware. But instead of refunding I decided to join the Devster discord, to which I was immediately greeted by Devin, the Founder of Devster in a DM, I hadn't even brought up my problems in their tech support channel, he just reached out with a welcome of his own accord which was really awesome.

The devs really care about the experience of new players, as well as making sure you enjoy the game. AS mentioned I was having issues with the UI not exactly working on the Steam version so the devs gave me a free code for the oculus version to see if that fixed it, which thankfully it did! I immediately spent about 2 hours playing in a open lobby with my bud after getting a brief mechanical rundown from a few guys on the discord. It was honestly a blast, the blade shattering mechanic gets around some of the balance and technical limitations of VR adding some elements of skill that don't just let a player wiggle waggle their weapon to kill you. Damage is calculated by the speed and distance traveled of your weapon, and when it hits an enemy it breaks, offering a bit of reprieve and reset time making dueling a bit more rewarding as you need to land precise, and decisive strikes.

Beware, I suggest proper rooms scale, as you will move a lot and be sure the space is CLEAR, or you will hit things. I hit something off my desk on accident even with good scale just by not paying attention to my floor boundaries. My friend also smacked a few things to great comedic effect and one of the other guys in the lobby broke a mug, all within like my first hour of playing.
