Finally played this classic and man oh man It does live up to it's reputation.
I just loved the grim and dark, but also immersive atmosphere, from the first mission onward it's like you are really living in this world. The storyline itself is great and captivating but Deus Ex also does a perfect job at telling it's story through the levels you traverse, the graphics also play a great role at doing just that, they may be simple but they make the most of them, creating stunning and instantly believeable locations. The levels are so varied and have so many ways you can approach a goal, it's crazy. The OST is also one of the best I've heard in a videogame period. Only negative thing I could say is that, obviously, the game's old as hell. So, it does need some help to run on modern systems. Also,the ending to the game feels somewhat abrupt, the game has immense buildup and it all concludes in a logical way, it's just that the endings are like 20 seconds.But overall, fantastic game. 9,5/10

Now being done with the trilogy, I can say STALKER is now one of my favorite franchises ever, great immersion and atmosphere, gripping story and game world, and of course: that great stalker charm and humor.
Really excited for STALKER 2!

Story and immersion wise, the first game remains the strongest one, with the main story here being kind of short.
The big strongpoint of CoP is the amount of side content and overall things to do. SoC remains my personal favorite, but this one is easily the most replayable and expands on the previous games really well gameplay wise. Like all the game in the trilogy, the games need mods to modernize them a bit, like changing the god awful FOV or changing the clunky HUD.

Man what a game, revisiting it made it even better for me.

Review updated almost a year later: I feel like the developers completely dropped the ball with the post release updates, all of them have been very underwhelming. The game severly lacks in content and problems that would be VITAL for the game to have a thriving community, are pushed to the wayside in favor of disgunstingly expensive dlcs. I would hold off with buying and wait a year or two and then see if things improved.

In some ways better than the first game and worse in other ways. Still really good tho

Incredible game and soundtrack. some minor bugs but they don't matter

Many great memories of this game when I was a kid lol and it still is amazing nowadays. Easily best star wars game IMO
