I just hit 500 hours played so now I'd say would be a good time to leave a review.

First off, I have played very few games I have over 500+ hours in, as someone who's been playing video games since the original NES this is saying something. I've also been playing this game since Alpha release when you could fall through the floor at any given time and it ran terribly.

The game is a cross between a traditional battle royale and has a PvE element with NPC "zombies" and other misc creatures. Your objective is to hunt down a boss by finding clues spread across the map at various locations.

Once you find 3 clues, a boss location is revealed and you must kill the boss, banish it's corpse and take it's bounty. The goal of the game is to escape with the bounty collected from the boss.

Originally when the game released you had duo teams of 2 people, so not only are you dealing with the NPC AI that roams the map but also with other random players who are all going for the same objective.

Most games you will have around 10-12 people in a server total, so there is some slight "running simulator" going on but a typical match may last anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on when you encounter other players.

The game is set in a time period when machine guns were not really a thing, it requires real skill and thought into every move you make.

All the guns are mainly slow shooting rifles and pistols along with the mixed in dynamite, molotov's and misc. traps you can use during game play to make things that much more interesting.

One wrong move in terms of a gun shot, running, setting off a cage of dogs or running into a pack of birds could mean a huge signal to the entire server and an incoming ambush from other players.

Playing with a headset is absolutely required as knowing the direction of a gun shot or other sounds is going to be critical for your success in this game.

What makes this game so awesome, is it's outright intense to be in a gun battle. I've never played a game that's gotten my chest straight up pounding during a battle like Hunt has.

Your character will die forever once they go down, which is what makes this game even more interesting. They included a core 'level' system which unlocks new perks, weapons, and gadgets as you make progress.

This level system caps at 100, but you can "prestige" and re-start from level 1 in exchange for weapon skins. Higher prestige levels grant additional unique weapon skins that don't effect the core game play.

Your character itself will earn levels up to 50 and with those levels you earn perk points which provide huge value during battle (for example, one perk let's you run slight faster, another may allow you to get revived with 100% health or reduce sway when looking through the scope of a sniper rifle)

The game introduced trio's in it's major release which is even more intense to play with a couple of friends, I highly suggest if you have a few fairly patient gaming buddies to play this with you will also easily sink hundreds of hours into this game having a blast killing other players and bosses trying to escape with the bounty.

Overall the graphics, sound, guns and overall game play is pretty unique compared to other games. While some battles can be frustrating (people shooting through wooden walls to kill you for example) most battles are straight up awesome and really fun even if you all go down with a loss.

You can also always join the discord server and easily find duo or trio groups of people to play with at pretty much all hours of the day.

I don't write reviews often, I also have not played any other online card games (never played Hearthstone or anything like that)

I decided to give this a try despite the microtransactions/trading. I viewed this similar to how Magic cards were when I was growing up.

Lately I've been playing Disney's Villainous with some friends so I was itching for some more card game action.

I spent about $15~ on building myself a good deck based on some guides I found online and this has made for some very challenging games.

Typically most games I'm doing about 50/50 win/loss ratio with this new deck I made. The games I lose are usually by a thread which makes for a really exciting game.

Pros:
-Really addictive gameplay
-When you win there is something just oddly really satisfying about crushing your opponent
-Games go quick, roughly 20-30 minutes tops.
-After 10~ or so games you really get the hang of what abilities people use based on the cards/combo's they have
-No game is ever the same
-I crushed some dude in a game who had a clearly put some money into his deck including a card that costs nearly $20 last I checked. This was very satisfying to know I can still win despite what cards people buy.

Cons:
-Wish they had more stats tracking
-I like multiplayer coop games generally but this one is only 1v1 so can't really play with friends unless it's against them
-Some people say it's pay to win, yes while you do have to get good cards to play competitively you can always play draft mode which is pre-built decks. I forked up another $15 and it's like I paid for a premium game.

Anyway, I think the game is great and definitely worth getting.

Really awesome game, played to level 17 doing coop with my girlfriend who also happens to be a chef. Some of the most fun we've had in a VR game!

I decided to go pickup a sub for lunch.

I browsed the steam sale thinking to myself "It would be so sweet if I could find a game that literally only requires the mouse right now"

Purchased this game, ate sub with one hand and played using the other.

Was not disapointed.

10/10

Pretty fun game, I don't write a ton of reviews for games and since this game is fairly new I thought I'd contribute a review.

I played this with my girlfriend and another couple last night, lots of "freak out" screaming was had by the girls while the bears ran around chasing us haha.

We played through all the current levels in arena and got decently far in the coop mode. I suspect with time this game will have some cool updates for maps, and abilities etc.

I think it would be cool if they made it so you could play one of the bears and chase your friends around :)

I usually don't write reviews, but despite not being able to login last night I think SOE is not going to just let people "pay" to drop guns. Give the game time.

Sorry writing negative reviews about a game with less than 24 hours under it's launch time is absolute junk. Give the game a month to let them polish out these things, if it really sucks in a month I'll come back and write an updated review.

This is a really fun game, it's fast paced and has great replay value. I played through the game about 5 times now, it also sucks when you die to the last boss and you simply just start over from scratch. The thing is, each game you play is unique since rooms, items, enemy's and events are random in every room and floor.

I got the same on sale but I still would pay full price and support the devs!

I want to love this game but it feels very much pay to win. I struggled with one of the bosses and died so many times I ended up actually depleting all of my armor.. I had no souls left to buy any new armor. I could have easily paid for souls but the game frustrated me too much with the way your character takes such a huge loss from any death.
