Simply an amazing RPG.
Due to the progression system in this game player feels real accomplishment every time he learns something useful. Progression is slow and you feel great when you kill an animal or other opponent you couldn't in the past. It's open-world and like open-world, some places are very dangerous even on higher levels. Gothic I is hard compared to most current RPGs so save often and be cautious exploring new areas.

After March 2021 Patch Gothic I runs on modern machines without any issues thanks to implementing SystemPack 1.8 into its core install. So you don't need anything to run the base game in high resolution and 300% distance.
