This is an updated review, and it shall remain negative until I have regained my trust with Gaijin.

War Thunder is an excellent game. Truly unique, diverse and a lot of fun. But it is that uniqueness that the developers use to hold us at ransom. While the player 'revolt' earlier in the year was the catalyst for sweeping, positive changes, it took incredible negative pushback to get Gaijin to make the game even slightly better.

I have lost all trust and the most recent patch has only shown that those nasty, predatory habits are still lurking in the shadows, waiting to come back. Firstly, and most blatantly, balance. Balance is atrocious, especially at top-tier. Gaijin refuses to address blatant balance issues and - on the contrary - exacerbates the extreme advantage Russia has over other nations. They are blatantly biased.

Secondly, stock HEAT-FS at top-tier is unacceptable and predatory. It is completely unfit for modern MBT combat and is incapable of dealing damage to any of it's br-peers. It serves purely as a tool to frustrate players into spending premium currency to avoid the extremely unpleasant grind.

Gaijin does not deserve the labour of love reward it was asking for and until they prove that they actually care at all and don't have to be forced to change for fear of loss of revenue, then they deserve nothing but negative reviews.

In conclusion. I would advise against getting into War Thunder. The owner, Gaijin, is a biased and predatory owner that will take advantage of you. Best to spend your time and money elsewhere.
