Early Access Review
Game's pretty cool for its Early Access condition, it shows great potential. (Got my key from the Alienware's forum giveaway)

It kinda feels like if PUBG and Mad Max had a kid.

Only thing is that it needs more players to gain traction. I was able to play 6/7 matches yesterday, couldn't yet play today because there were only 10 people in the queue.

I love it. More and more, as time goes by and Hello Games keeps updating it. <3

Edit 1 (2022): Just came back to say that years go by, and I still love this game.

Edit 2 (2023): Game keeps getting better and better.

Edit 3 (2024): I'd say "Take my money, Sean!" but he already did a long time ago and keeps improving the game for free. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But of course I recommend this game and will do so for as long as I can!

This was and still is, by far, my favorite RPG of all time. The big middle finger shown to the politically correct standards, the nonsense, the references, and the freedom.. oh, the freedom.

Freedom of choices, freedom of movement, consequences galore and sometimes unexpected because guess what, things aren't always as people tell you in the real world, so why would they be so in a videogame?

After 20 years and several playthroughs, I've just finished the first one since I bought it on Steam. Although nothing could match the way I felt playing it for the first time, installing killap's Restoration Project (you know.. the labor of love of a guy and a few friends who not only corrected hundreds of bugs but also completed/added several of the content that was cut due to the launch being rushed) came pretty close.

I absolutely love Fallout 2.

Very fun short and smart puzzle-game. Well written noir police story.

It does feel a bit like Watchdogs in 2D, like I've read on other reviews, mainly due to the ability to crosswire lots of different devices and watch as things happen the way you want them to, instead of the way they're supposed to. Ingenuity will be rewarded!

The setting is great, and the soundtrack is AMAZING.

Fully recommend this game, even if not for its full price as it's indeed very short (~4hours to unlock all achievements. I only have more because I idled it for the cards when I first bought it).

For the walking simulator/short-story it aims to be (you can expect finishing the game in ~3 hours, completing it in ~5), Tacoma shines bright.

The concept of recovering what happened in the space station by means of actually seeing the crew's steps and interactions through the Augmented Reality system works great and it allows you to understand everyone's point of view, personality and events that ultimately led to the way the story unfolded.

The ability to add bits and pieces to the story by checking personal desktops, messages, etc rounds up the great storytelling the game proposes to deliver.

Not spoiling, I can say Tacoma hits bull's eye on making you think about conciousness and what it actually means to be sentient.

Loved it and fully recommend it.

Albeit it being a short story, I absolutely loved it.

It's a labor of love from a single dev and it deeply resonated with me, probably due to the fact that I'm a big fan of Heinlein's work, SCI-FI in general and mostly everything that theorizes about humanity's future, evolution, social models, consciousness, etc.

Graphics are top-notch considering the overall lack of resources.

In hindsight and considering the above, I would've bought it full price instead of taking no risk by purchasing it for less than a cup of coffee through Humble, as I did.

Sincerely hope this works as a showcase for IonizedGames's abilities and can't wait to see what he pulls next.

PS - Forgot to mention the dev's outstanding post-mortem on the UE's forum. That post by itself would be worth paying for if you're a first game dev or somewhat interested on the topic. AMAZING.

Ah.. New Vegas.

"They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I said I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard."

Love it.

:: Recommended only if obtained free ::

Pros:

- Runs on any potato. Even a mashed one;
- 5 seconds between clicking 'Play' on Steam and being online playing;
- All achievements are obtainable within 2,5h/3,5h gameplay.

Everything else seems kind of unpolished.

Get it for free, or don't get it at all. (got mine on a giveaway)
